Garnacho is 20. If you compare him to Amad, he’s two years younger. Amad was on loan at Sunderland age 20. We all knew he was quality but he was given a chance to go and develop playing every week. Garnacho has had similar minutes, but against higher level opposition with a lot more pressure put on his shoulders. He should be given time to turn into the best player he can, who’s to say he can’t adapt to being a ten in this system? Or a wing back? We’ve spent too long harming long term success chasing short term results. Garnacho should stay.

It was always going to be a tough game vs Southampton, as Amorim feared. Firstly we beat them away, easy (3-0 I think). Secondly they had the new manager bounce, and had nothing to lose playing us away. That is why their strategy was to choke us...be on top of us from the kickoff. They man-marked us. We on the other hand, had just played 2 teams where no motivation was needed to throw our bodies on the floor, and run like mad dogs. Southampton would be different and difficult, because we were at home, we needed to show dominance and control, and needed to win comfortably as we were favorites. This was pressure on us, as we'd never done this before. So, at kickoff when they didn't allow us to play, we felt pressure. What added to the pressure was our fear and doubt in Yoro. That unsettles any team. To add to it, Højlund couldn't beat his man and our attack became toothless. These factors contributed to us just trying to hang in there. When Zirkzee came on and started beating his man, Southampton began to fear..and when Yoro went off, and Maz moved over, Southampton knew they were up against it. We could feel something was on. That's when Amad went in for the kill.

Here in italy we had some news from really trusted italian journalists, that manna , the sporting director for the Napoli club, went to Barcelona to discuss with the entourage of garnacho, and they happily agreed to the terms, (I mean it makes sense when u put into perspective, he has a way better chance to grow in a club thats first in the league and that is gonna play champions league football this year) the only problem as everyone knows is that man u wants more money than Napoli are willing to pay, for now. Hi Sam and community. I degree with your analysis of the hojlund performance, too often he was dragged into midfield and wasn't touch tight to the last defender giving us no out ball, yes when we had the ball he made runs but when we lost possession there was no quick. Dligt was too quick to drop off giving us problems with offsides and space for them. HM gave us a solid Base when he came on. For 82 minutes we were all over the place how many time did garna lose the ball with sloppy passing and late to close down

In a few months, Hojlund will have been here two years. Have we seen ANY progress since when he came in? Sure, he shouldn't have been the main man at United, but one would think that having this amount of game time, it would have sped up some development, but I haven't seen it. If anything, he seems to be regressing. His hold up play was a lot better when he first came in, but he seems more interested in falling to the floor now and looking for a foul. He also might not get as much service as other strikers in the league, but I'm not having that argument. He gets the ball up to him enough that he should be making it stick. He's not and he needs to improve quick. The "he's still young and improving" won't hold much longer. He came in at 20, he's 22 in a month and hasn't improved even slightly. As a No.9 for United, we can't keep waiting for improvement, we need guaranteed goals. We are Manchester United. not bloody Brighton.

If there's an understanding that Mainoo and Ugarte were tired then we should also understand the overall performance. They played an hour with 10 men. That takes a lot out of you. Prior to LFC and AFC the team had time to train with a week of preparation before. South Hampton had time to prepare and they were more rested. Appreciate the wins when they come because this team will never be what you want until they have a preseason.

Watch this: loads of fans are saying start Zirk. Understandable. But wrong. He started and got booed off after 30 minutes. There is a reason why he cannot start Prem games. A huge reason why he was great coming on, on his debut as well as last night, is that the game had slowed down and he had the space and time to do his thing. Rasmus strength and pace are needed in minute 1. He’s struggling because he now has 2 players behind him instead of 3 players all around him and our wingback play is non-existent. Zirkzee/Hojlund argument is a classic example of United fans and previous managers biggest problem. Amorim starting Hojlund and subbing Zirkzee has been working but fans don’t see it working they instead make a war between players. Literally a week ago everyone wanted Zirkzee sold because he was fat and slow but now Hojlund is the problem. Garnacho should learn from Amad. He scored the first goal and didn't even celebrate. Took the ball for a fast restart. He only celebrated when he scored the second goal. So no one's going to mention how the setup was absolutely terrible? 5 atb against Southampton; wth?! We literally gifted them the midfield. The game changed with the subs because we moved Amad up which pinned Suleimana and Zirkzee dropped into midfield to even the numbers out. We then had Eriksen who can actually play football dictate from deep. Amorim's setup works against the big teams but he needs something else if he's going to dominate the small teams. I fear he's too stubborn to change though.

No Fan channel is brave enough, honest enough to talk about Mainoo. Mainoo is the one fans need to be concerned with. I know fans will push back on that. He's young, give him time, blah blah blah. Such a weak standpoint. He can not cover the pitch. He's extremely slow. He's not a 6 or 8. Recovery runs from him are embarrassing. Middle of the park, most important area, and fans put a lot of hope and faith in this kid to run the show, not for me. He's a bench player, not a 50 games a year starter. Kobbie will prove it himself with his lack of athleticism and lack of pace. His stats are poor. His attitude is brilliant. Good on the ball, but that's it. Average kid. When kobbie continuously shows his frailties, fans will start to ask questions. When that happens, fans will see and realise what I know now. He isn't good enough to take us forward. We will not challenge in the next few seasons and beyond if Mainoo continues to play as a 6 or 8. Not even as a 10 ( his best position) will we be successful with him.

I saw his 3 goals and 1 assist in that time. His stats are poor. Amorim saw it also. Kobbie has a really likeable attitude, top young man. I don't dislike him. I want my team to challenge for titles. That won't happen with Kobbie. We lose all midfield battles. He struggled against the bottom side, Southampton. They run past him all the time. Ugarte does all the groundwork to cover mainoos' lack of pace. If we lose Ugarte to injury, Mainoo can not do that job. Collyer is far better suited to this system, way more dynamic.
