I decided to upload the second half of this lecture. It details some of Wilson's rationales and objectives for his book on psychotherapeutic psychology, as well as for African/black psychology in general.

"The question that often goes unasked or unanswered, from a general theoretical point-of-view, is one that asks:“What familial, societal role is played by the maladjusted personality?” If the maladjusted personality is created and maintained by a social system, whether that system be dyadic, familial or societal, then it is reasonable to assume that such a personality is created and maintained because it is needed; because it is essential to the functioning of that system, or some segment of that system. The maladjusted personality is created and maintained in service to another." - Amos Wilson

Dennis Ausar Winkler You're fine. No, this channel is for propaganda purposes; however, I am personally part of an ACBN movement. We subscribe to the ideologies and works of Amos Wilson, Marcus Garvey, Bobby E. Wright and Chinweizu. Our main aim is to (re)define who is African and redirect the group towards maintaining its own biological continuity through developing power and remaining exclusive.

What did you take from this and how did you find it . My father used to leave his books around and my auntie borrowed them meaning I was double exposed at her house . Meanwhile mother always had black identity books lying around too but unlike father they were "academic" or at least to do with social policy hence I champion Charles Mills "The Racial Contract." He blends both streams This cartoon might also work to stimulate thought: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5XIo4aOp6Z2o6s Carlitosway44 These cartoons are provocative tools provided there is a question or thought for the day to inform as well as inspire guidance

@@perryvalton4245 I get what you're saying. I see it too. I guess we just have to put our faith in black/Afrikan people's ability to see through the B.S. We at least have SOME counter media out there like PBT and others. It's not a lot but it's way better than nothing. Plus these lectures and other contemporary speakers, leaders do a decent job of reminding people where our focus should reside. I'm still very hopeful.

Dr. Amos Wilson broke me away Jungian psychoanalysis which is individualistic in its nature. Hence the name the path of Individuation. African Communalism over Eurocentric Individualism.
@AfricanThinker86
@AfricanThinker86 8 ай бұрын
Great to hear. It's not even that individualism is completely anti-Afrikan as much as Eurocentric psychology is limited when it comes to understanding the psychology of Afrikan people, due to the numerous differences in context. Wilson was putting forth an entirely new theoretical framework and foundation to address the problems within black psychology (e.g., theory on the necessity, origin and function of maladjustment, how maladjustment is created, etc.). It ran across his entire body of work, such as in his theory of intelligence and the deliberate creation of certain cognitive styles. Interestingly enough though, his theories actually work well to even explain the psychology of people of European descent.
@arronfrazier7873
@arronfrazier7873 4 ай бұрын
Here is the kicker! Europe psychoanalysis, culture, government and etc, they push this narrative on other people. The other people were enslaved, colonized and etc. However, they don't maintain and stay in power being individualistic. The varies Europe tribes to which became nations and etc, they fought like cats and dogs since the Greeks to the Romans and etc. Since that Berline Conference of 1884, they will put down the gun to organize to make sure European/Western dominance is over the planet.
