+TYFLOL I feel like that's already what they do, or something close to it. Out of all the Djent bands' bassists Amos is almost certainly the most funk-influenced. You don't see many bassists even not use picks anymore, as a jazz bassist who later got into metal it seems unfortunate to me

Amos is what you would call a pure bassist. The main and only instrument he focuses on. You can tell by the style 💪🏻

Nice one Amos! Hopefully you can post more bass videos for most of the Polaris songs! I for one would love to see the "Cages" being played live. I was finally able to wrap my head around the rhytm in that song - being 15 notes of bass per "section", totalling up to 72 beats (or 15x4 + 12) for a larger "section" of music. Weird, but beautiful :)

Well... after listening to several videos with Amos playing the Warwick Thumb and this video with the Kiesel bass, I definitely like this tone way more. Way more punchy and full.

This weird and awesome bass has a lot more open mid-range that it sounds like his new tone needed. Definitely has less growl down low, but the mid-range/treble are more open and airy.

Index & ring fingers, left hand. Check out the small rotations of the index finger to mute the strings sideways.

Something is bugging me ... there is a note ( a D on the 5th string ) kind of a ghost note, ( its after the 5 in the 4th string and 8th in the 5th string in the second bar of the verse ) i'm not sure if he is playing but i'm hearing

Lukas Wagner I don't think so. Kiesel didn't offer an option for a MM style pickup for the Vader, so Amos probably threw away the original pickups and drilled a bigger cavity for the MM pickup

I was thinking the same thing. Whether he routed this bass out for a MM pickup, or he was experimenting with its position, it's definitely a proto type thang.
