I have an inline twin. Is it possible to mount the case on the tail end and run the bore on the head end?

Well done!

You didn't use any oil when honing? I thought you were supposed to use oil when honing cylinders. Also, you didn't show any measuring tools to check bore size. Did you verify the actual size or just going by feel?

I measured the bore with the piston. Measured it twice in the video. I checked the running clearance of the piston with a feeler gage and the also the ring end gap. There are video links at the end of the video about that. As far as using oil when honing, I have done it both ways, with and without oil. I get better results with out oil when honing cast iron, because the stones don't load up.

Would that atlas lathe be limited to single cylinders or vtwins? Can't imagine a 350 twin cylinder head fitting in there.

You are correct. Can only do single cylinders in that small lathe. If you had a bigger lathe, you could do twin cylinder jugs using this method.

@@Amotorcyclenut you'd have to counterbalance the backing plate for a twin, but yea it'd work.

make a jig to hold the cylinder assembly in the compound and then use the spindle to cut the bore.
