Amouage Reflection Man Re-review + New Formulation vs Vintage

Reflection Man is one of the many unfortunate fragrances to get reformulated in the past few years. I've owned and enjoyed both formulations so I decided to try to show you guys what the differences between the 2 actually are :)

This is an interesting battle, the reformulation hurts this one but not as much as you might think... one of the major differences is a fairly big non-factor for me making the new formulation still a good option for most people.
This is my #1 Amouage by a mile but let me know if you'd like to see any future content centered around other Amouage scents!

No, you're fine. Current formulations of Amouage (magnetic cap) are made in both UK and Oman. I have a magnetic cap from Oman and it performs well on me

Is it safe to buy Amouage reflection man from fragrance net.com. I was watching a video from Amouage’s CEO And he stated any discounted product of theirs sold at a30 or 50% discount was fake. I got the magnetic one from Oman and it lasts the whole day - 10 to 12 hours. Do you find any differences between Oman and U.K. versions? What are your next 3 Favourite Amouage?

I haven't had much experience with the different countries, after Reflection Amouage really falls off for me lol but I guess Ciel Man, Jubilation 25, then Epic

I am beginning to appreciate Amouage more now because of the quality and the consistent performance. I believe that the wearability issue could be addressed by controlling the sprays. Of course there are still a few that are not at all appealing to my nose re: Fate, Gold and Bracken. I am gravitating towards Memoir, Jub 25. Need to test the others more closely as what should be done for Amouage releases.

Why hunt down the non magnetic cap for an extra few hours of longevity. Just take a small decant and reapply at will. That way you can enjpy the top notes all day which is the best part of RM.

its true i cant smell my reflection man after 20 min i put it 7 times around my neck but the people i meet tell me i smell gergous even 10 hours later i think my brain is ignoring the perfume after 20 mins

I think that may be the case for me too. I can't smell it after a short time, but not sure if it's still projecting or not.

I'm super late here but I wish I found this sooner. I tried a sample of Reflection 5 years ago and it blew my mind. I still remember it! Fast forward and I finally got a bottle. I can hardly believe the difference. Shame on Amouage and shame on all the houses for crapping on their loyal customers like this. Reformulations are terrible for me because they add tons of filler chemical fixatives to the juice and my sinuses are terribly sensitive to them. Completely ruins the fragrance for me. Avoiding those scratchy fixatives is the whole reason I buy niche. The difference between the magnetic and vintage Reflection is extreme.

Lol I get great performance with the newer one 7 to 8 hours and projects for a few good hrs thats more than ok... people you dont need to freak out looking for the "non magnetic" one just get it out of your mind stop worrying about it stop talking about cause it really dosent matter 👍

I own both and I get 7-8 hours with the Magnetic cap and maybe around 12 hours with the vintage. The Vintage is NOT worth the search and price jump, it's quite a bit more expensive now. You're perfectly fine with the magnetic cap, I mean magnetic caps are awesome anyway :P

Can't agree, got a magnetic one that is very weak after 4 hours and gone after 6 hours... the non magnetic one is still noticeable after 12-14 hours.

So I'm not sure how the current Reflection Man bottles work but my magnetic cap still performs a solid 7-8 hours, and it seems in comments many people experience the same as I did with the magnetic cap. The vintage bottle prices are no where near worth the value for some extra performance imo :)

Beach hut is a newer fragrance. It was not released with a magnetic cap. Reflection was created under a different owner or whatever and when it switched over Amouage chsnged things up and reformulated their original fragrances.

Reformulation and greedy companies have really messed up fragrances. Now we must choose between having a crappy skin scent or paying a fortune for a vintage bottle that hopefully hasn’t gone bad. I really miss the eighties and nineties when designer was king

Your describing the non-magnetic cap as being vintage isn't entirely correct. Reflection Man was released in the old Amouage style bottles for a year or so before Amouage switched to the newer style bottles, first with the non-magnetic caps. You can also tell the vintage ones as they have a tint of color to the juice where as the nes ones are completely clear

if you want to get ripped off, then yes, the decant shop is for you. Go read the reviews on that place; horrible.
