I haven't watch Ash enter the Galar league and I really want Serena return as Ash's travel companion permanently in the real Sword and Shield series anime because Journeys anime is just a non-canonical reboot.

Ash somehow travelled in the past with greninja and saved the world from lysandre's ancestor, where everyone saw it and made a painting of it and we saw that in the XYZ anime. This could be the story of Legends ZA anime and games also. And Journeys anime somehow ignored serena in the Clemont and bonnie's flashback, because they saved it for future episode where serena returns, then the ash-greninja bond phenomenon was also removed from the flashbacks of greninja return episode means this could possibly a hint of ash-greninja return in the future.

I'm seeing a lot of hate in the comments here.... I don't really think the anime characters will come back directly, but amourshipping is def. the one true ship. My response to people saying that ash didn't feel anything, but I feel like he's just awkward and reserved in that specific aspect of life. Lots of people (myself included) don't know where to start, so we just do our best to give hints. Serena is definatly the more forward one, but they both have feelings. Keep it up my guy, and lets all look forward to L:Z-A together :)

Bonnie, the Slurpuff girl, and the Amourshippers recognize the crush on Serena’s end. But Ash is the typical clueless protagonist we see in every other anime that cant figure it out on his own. Even on the “”Ash and Serena date episode””, Ash was entirely focused on getting presents for his Pokemon and pretty much ignored Serena and her blushing. There was absolutely zero interest on Ash’s end cuz he’s an idiot that couldn’t tell someone had a crush on him (or what love is in general) even if you spelled it out for him 🤦🏻‍♂️ It’s been that way since he went to Hoenn, it continued in Sinnoh, and it didn’t change in either Unova or Kalos. Serena is just the first travel companion to actually have a canonical crush on Ash, so the Serena fans have more to cling onto here. But again, there’s no actual mutual feeling on Ash’s end
