It so happened in Edward Elliots Road, we lived midway through Gemini House and his S-i-l GS Mani bungalow ( opp Girija Bungalow, the residence of former President of India Dr.Srvapalli Radhakrishnan). In 1950,I was just 9 years old. We lived close to Gemini Studio and I have heard about the grand marriage from my elders. As you narrated I also came to know that the local crowd at times went berserk and created law and traffic problems. It is a fact that for many years the public spoke about the marriage celebrations. After some time lot of disturbing rumors started spreading in the conservative town of Madras and some rumour mongering news media brought out speculative news items. It will be interesting if some lights are thrown on post- marriage happenings. The flash back is not only vivid but also a presentation with no exaggeration and bias. Thanks.

That was a super duper marriage. Umayal Achi's marriage had electric supplies from Chennai because Kottiyur didn't have any electricity at that time. Almost all the cinema stars and musicians were brought in and had non-stop shows. It was a 7-day marriage. A post-reception was held in Chennai, Vepery (where Alagappa Schools at Purasaiwakkam are now located).

Grandma great lady , lovable Grandma, only i missed grandma last moments . Grandma always in my Heart. until my last breath. The Rosewood Box with Dhoti & Saree presented to Anandavikadan & Gemini group employees, individually printing the employee name was a mammoth effort. My parents Smt & Sri V.Rajagopalan were a recipient of this gift. This box is now with me as a memory- momento of my parents. The snaps attached herewith, where still, after 75 years the Printing of Sri Vasan family & my father, the recipient name are very much in tact..(Dt..January, 1956). என் தந்தை யின் அத்தை மகளுக்கு 1940 களில் மதுரையில் மேலப் பெருமாள் மேஸ்திரி வீதியில் நடந்தது. மாப்பிள்ளை press trust of India நிறுவனத்தில் பெரிய பதவியில் இருந்ததால் ராய்டிரஸ் செய்தி நிறுவனம் ஆக இருந்ததால் நான்கு நாட்கள் திருமண விமர்சையாக நடந்தது.ரிசப்ஷனுக்கு தியாசாபிகல் சொசைட்டி யில் வைத்து வெளி நாட்டவர் களுக்கு மது விருந்து அளிக்கப்பட்டது.அக்காலத்தில் மதுரை யில் இந்த திருமணம் பற்றி பேசினார் கள்.எங்கள் அத்தை தர்மாம்பாள் அவரது கணவர் T.S.நீலகண்டன். பின்னர் அவர் PTI நிறுவனத்தில் General Manager இருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்றார்.
