This is 100% what happened to me today with their 1200W. I have had the unit for about 90 days but today is the first time I tried ot used it. I contacted support. Will update this when they respond.

I don't think I have seen an inverter fail that badly in a review , first the output voltage then the sine wave. Good job on the review.

Thank you, there are more reviewers out there that have done a good job too.

I'm surprised by this. Last February, our Ampeak 1200 Watt unit saved us over a 5 day power outage connected to our EV, and reliabely powered our refrigerator, furnace, upright freezer, and at one point or front load washing machine. We didn't have any issues with it and everything ran as well as it did when connected to grid power.
@Roll2Videos11 ай бұрын
That sounds made up. 🤣
@dane919311 ай бұрын
@@Roll2Videos why does it sound made up? I used an average of 8% per day to power the essentials off and on as needed. The furnace drew 320 watts max running on stage 2, the refrigerator when running was about 180 watts, and the freezer was 200 watts. Combined, it rarely saw over 750 watts continuous power. I used an EVExtend wiring kit to connect it to my Chevy Bolt. While most of our neighbors lost the contents of their refrigerators and froze, we kept our house at 68*. I got the Ampeak with overnight shipping from Amazon. Before it got here, our house had dropped down to 49 degrees inside. I also have an Emporia whole home energy monitor that's connected to all these circuits and can easily confirm their actual power demand when in use.

9:32 you said that you were using a capacitor or resistor before you connected to the battery in order to avoid damaging the power inverter, which type of resistor/capacitor do you use and what size?

@@Roll2Videos thanks, also you said that you wanted to use a fuse of some type, would that be an inline fuse? what do you recommend
@Roll2Videos Жыл бұрын
@@bizzyizzy9526 I would use a 2 AWG wire with a 120A fuse.

Good video! I’m looking for a power inverter to install in my semi truck. I would like to run a 700w microwave and a mini fridge at the time. Any recommendation? Which brand do you recommend?

I like the XYZ INVT inverters. I have a few videos using them.
@scarygary3569 Жыл бұрын
I wonder why they had to make wire sizes so wacked as you get to the larger sizes/gauges? For awhile I didn't realize there was a difference between (ex.) 2/0 and #2 wire and so on. Glad I do now but still...??? 🤯

Not sure why. There is so much information I'm still learning myself. 😁

I got the 1200 inverter which does have this issue to convert to 0.4V sometimes. Switching off and on solves this but something seems to be not 100% right. Video coming out soon ;-)

If I am reading the info correctly, this is Not a Pure Sine Wave, but a Modified Sine Wave inverter?

@@Roll2Videos No problem, I tried to find this inverter on the Ampeak Website, but they don't list the Pure Sine Wave version of the 2000 watt model but only the Modified Sine version? Could this be a knock off from the original with different labeling?

I got 5kw inverter but the hardest i have pushed it is 3.5kw.. some manufacturers don't even bother to give you cables because most of the time we prefer to make our own

@Theoppositeofchaos Жыл бұрын
I guess what they do is to make same size cables and then throw them in all their inverter size, i know its wrong but on the other hand very few people run their inverters at full blast all the time
@Roll2Videos Жыл бұрын
That's true. If they're fusing it correctly to the wire gauge, I guess it's okay. But then they could buy a lower-wattage inverter and save money. 🤷
