FriGgin’ Musical 😇 Heaven. Everyone getting to experience that Zeitgeist Moment in the transition of the band Journey. Back when,…. that large cult following was introduced without warning to Steve Perry coming ‘on-board’; and every band member played open the area for us to get a taste of him w/out having to fight through a dense musical intricacy. No, not MTV yet. This gold nugget of a song just came from that radio in our automobile 🚙. . I don’t get that many awakenings, such as that, anymore. BOY, THEY SURE GOT THIS R.I.G.H.T.!!!!

This has to be one of the most awkward working situations on rock music history. You have two guys playing onstage every night, who are literally involved in a lawsuit against each other, lol. And who are openly calling each other out on Twitter. I'm not aware of a comparable instance. Even Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce werent SUEING each other while playing together. But yet here they are, playing together every night. You have to give both Schon and Cain credit. They REALLY do put the brand of Journey over everything else. This has to be awkward for both of them

Deen just needs to be the permanent lead vocalist for this incarnation of Journey - partnering with Gregg on classic 1970s songs like this, of course. I'm sure Arnel is a really nice guy and all, but his vocals lack the soulfulness and depth the Journey catalog requires. The emotion was there with Perry back in the day and it's here with Castronovo as well. Not so with Pineda (sorry).

I might disagree, but then again am not certain where you are coming from? Gregg left on good terms, and implied he anticipated Steve Perry would want to rule the roost, which he wound up doing.
