I definitely feel for you bro and hope you get back up and running again, I’ve been there a few years ago and had to basically sell everything I’d built up over 20yrs!! Believe me I had to sell a huge amount and all I was left with was one lonely guitar, fortunately over a bit of time and hard work I got back on my feet and really been able to start building it all back up again, this year I’ve been lucky enough to get quite a lot of stuff and have actually gone a bit wild buying gear again, but it’s what i enjoy and makes me happy, so best of luck @Fret Fanatic there is definitely hope mate.

I can't get Anplitube 5 to do shit! I'm getting sound but it's just from guitar, I guess I just don't know how to use the software or I'm missing something! Please help?

It does sound really good for amp sim and for free you can’t complain, well worth a download even if you’d rarely use it, it’s there if you want it, the more stuff the better. I’ve not used Amplitude since V2 so it’s been a while, but I remember using V1 years ago when it first came out and loved using that! Oh how things have changed and come on leaps & bounds. Just started downloading V5 now! Thanks for the demo Kabor, I love when you’re about to finish after about 25mins you always say “just a couple more” 🤣😂 and we end up getting an extended 41min vid. Of course it's a digital software. And even real amp sounds are converted to digital the moment they enter a microphone. They are not modeling how tube amps sound. They are modeling how tube amps sound through a microphone going into a mixer.

@goldenultra

Any interface will alter the sound, even a longer lead from the guitar will change the sound. I also use the cheap toy amps because they are more simple and hardly alter the sound. You are right there is something atrificial, the real warmth of tubes cannot be replaced, every tube I think in a real amp will change the sound in a slightly different way too unlike transisters. But it is the hastle factor, I do not want to disturb my neighbours. You can use midi controllers to make it more realistic but then again the hastle of setting it up really negates the extra benefits of it. .

I'm not sure what the limit is in the free version...I updated to the maxed out version just after I filmed this video so I can't even check for you. They may have put a cap onto how many pedals you can have in the free version. I did notice in the video that I couldn't add that 500 series chorus to the delay & reverb because it only allowed me two slots...so that may just be it

As I'm learning the guitar (I'm beginner) it's important to me to check every possible effect that I can use in blues, metal and rock playing and I gotta say this software pinched me next to the wall with free options... and it works so good, that I'm buying an extension next month. And gonna put my real amp back in the closet for a while :D Your hidden smile in the first 10 mins of this video says it all my friend. U enjoyed it very much! When I go to my profile, I see my gear that I'm supposed to be able to use, right? Then why the fuck do I click on them and ONLY get info about that gear but CAN'T USE IT or at least I don't see shit of how I can use it. Hi friends, can I have this question(Actually, how you listen to your "computer" playing?): How to make this two scenarios sounding same - First: PC+Interface+Plugin+Guitar power amp+real cabinet(cabinet emulation in plugin is switched off) and second: PC+Interface+Plugin(cabinet simu is on) and small PA. First one is ok for me(BUT: then I loose color of simulated cabinet, hmm...right?) but second sounds not ok, it misses guitar midrange punch, sounds like guitar processors 15 years ago... I tried EQ, but still not ok... Teoretically, this two cases should sound the same...shouldn't? Note: Second scenario is ok on headphones. Is your chugging sounding good on your bedroom monitors/speakers, which stands on your desk? How to play on guitar amp with taste of cabinet simulation? Any smart ideaa? Thanks! Brambo.
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS 3 жыл бұрын
Good question...I’ve never really tried running an amp sim through a power amp...but I’ll give it a go! I think I’m used to hearing amps through studio monitors...when we film at Alex’s studio we hear the mic’ed up amp sound through his studio monitors (the cabinet is in a different, soundproof room) and at my place I’ve been using Two Notes load boxes & can sims...so all my amps run through those and I hear them through my studio monitors...so for me a lot of the amp sim plugins don’t really sound or feel any different to what my amps sound like because the sound always comes out of the monitors

In all honesty I really liked Amplitube 4 and this v5 is even better. I think it feels great...mind you I am used to playing with amp sims and listening to the guitar through studio monitors. I use a Helix when I play live a lot...and in my studio all my amps go through a Two Notes Torpedo Cab Sim with no “real” speaker connected so I am used to hearing the guitar through the monitors! But like I said I am extremely impressed with what you get in this free version...the feel & sound are great...best thing I could suggest is to try it...it’s free...best way to find out!!

Results can sound great but in my opinion it's a very different experience. I spend more time tweaking and clicking with amplitube than strumming my guitar. If your interface only has “line” inputs you may need to plug your guitar into a DI box before you go into the interface...it has something to do with your guitar needing a high impedance or “Hi Z” input to function correctly. So unless your interface has a high impedance or hi z input try running it through a DI first...hope that makes sense?!? I might do a video on that in the coming weeks

Hi Phil, Did you ever get a fix for this? I have a Scarlett 3rd Gen Solo too and can't get the sound right from my strat in any ampsim. Have tried, DI box, line level, inst level etc. so wondering if you found anything interesting on this please? Sound is way too upper mid heavy i.e. 'pinched', harsh, scratchy etc - was this your issue? Thanks,

It works with the Donner interface. But did not at the start, had to set audio to 44000 and increase buffer to last but one. Also no good just selecting the sound card u also have to select Asio, then it worked for me on a very old but tweaked Windows 8.1 laptop with anti virus off. Though Scarlett Solo was sold out I went for the cheaper Donner interface.

great content piece, I like how you decided to just record and go instead of scripting and chopping everything up for an edit. I know I'm two years too late, but for the volume issue could you not have just turned the sounds down in windows? I have to imagine that they've got it up that high to match youtube/spotify at max in their respective apps.

What computer type are you running this on? Also, what guitar to pc Interface are you using - FocusRite? 11:28, 22:00, 23:02 are some great stereo depth sounds. What does it sound like with the chorus and the effects loop? Thanks for the video mate! 👍☺

What's really cool to use is the cab room in amplitube with real amps, if you DI them using something like a loadbox. I prefer it to GGD Zilla and the likes because it's so customisable.

I'm using the free version with my focusrite 212i and it sounds nothing like this. I'm going straight from guitar to cable to 1/4 input on the focusrite set to INST which theoretically should work but the sound is not good to my ears anyway. Maybe your interface is better than mine. :)

prob a really stupid question, but how are you able to play the guitar the guitar through the plugin in real time using an audient? i'm not saying it's bad, but thought latency was inevitable except when using something like UAD, where the plugins are technically not being processed in the computer itself (idk how to properly put it)
@TSFAHTPS
@TSFAHTPS 3 жыл бұрын
I've had a few people ask me about that...I don't seem to have any latency issues...not ones that worry me anyways! I just run straight into the interface and then into logic where I use AmpliTube as a plugin - I have a 2015 iMac running Mojave, so nothing super fast... If you are running a project with lots of tracks and using lots of plugins there can be issues but I've been using AmpliTube (and a German competitors Amp Sim) for a while now and if there are any issues, usually restarting the computer and/or running at low latency mode - which switches the other plugins used off - seems to fix it.

I see they still have that freaking pop-up for features not supported in current version that you have to click on... Geez when are they going to learn that this is a shitty UI solution? How hard is it to just have a information text at the bottom of the window? Make the text bold and red if you want, but stop it with the freaking pop up message boxes!!

I have kind of an issue on AT Free version. Maybe someone here had the same prob and found out how it can be solved. So I got my audio interface Focusrite connected to the pc and when I connect my guitar it works, just the clean channel directly from the guitar sound. But when I start AT 5 I try whatever possible but I only here the same clean sound from the focusrite through the program. It's like the program is not running . What am I doing wrong? Anyone had the same issue?

Love your channel have been hear for a while now and great to here all the sounds from different pedals. So I have got Amplitbe 4 that I connect to through an iRig 2 HD. Big question is do you have to uninstall Amplitube 4 before installing Amplitube 5 ? or will it upgrade as part of the install? Also can you keep the stuff you bought in version 4 will it upgrade to 5 or do you have to buy it again? I got an activation code with my iRig so although I am still on a lot of free stuff on version 4 I do get access to the recording feature. If I was to upgrade would really like to see the recording feature in version 5 if your able to review. I have recently done some recording reviews using the software on my YT channel and also done some rifs and play throughs on my IGTV. look forward to the next review :-)

Hi Robert...no you don’t have to uninstall Amplitube 4...and everything you bought will just carry over into v5...it all goes via the Custom Shop...just make sure to update the custom shop if you update to v5! I will definitely go through the recording function in an upcoming video...and the looper too

Yeah, had AT3 back in what, 2012 and regretted buying it with my life. And this still sounds like garbage. It has that same digitally feel... absolutely unacceptable when you have companies like Neural DSP and ML Soundlab delivering way better stuff than something that is still 8-10 years old. This is Line 6 POD level.
