00:02 Explanation of Amplitude Modulation 02:29 Amplitude modulation involves changing the amplitude of the carrier signal with respect to a modulating signal. 04:39 Amplitude Modulation involves changing carrier signal amplitude with message signal. 06:52 Amplitude modulation is represented by the equation AC(1 + mu*sin(OmegaMT)*sin(OmegaCT)). 09:58 Amplitude modulated signal has three frequency components. 12:40 Amplitude modulation involves carrier signal, side bands, and waste of power. 14:52 AM has drawbacks like higher bandwidth and power requirement 16:42 Amplitude modulation involves sending carrier signal and sideband signals. it's looks cumbersome if you look those components in sinusoids. Better convert cos components into exponentials using Euler's theorem and then use time shifting property of fourier transform to convert those into frequency domain Then you can have frequency response in 3 steps

By fouier transform it transfers to delta function with amp= pi*mu*Ac/2 , rather than just mu*Ac/2? and also there are -Wc-Wm, -Wc, -Wc+Wm in negative side rather just positive side ? @rishabhbahoria12984 жыл бұрын
Hi sir ! i really admire your work, what you are doing is great !! i would like to suggest you that, it will be better for us(student) if you stop tempering with the standard term... for example here you have taken sinwct as a carrier signal though the standard books consider coswct as the carrier signal, i suppose that, to add your touch you have consider sinwct as carrier signal, so far nothing wrong. Thinks goes wrong when you add up with the standard notation, and yes you did add up here and hence commiting a mistake here at 13:30 you are plotting the ampiltude plot over but what i feel is its a Magnitude plot, i hope you definately know the difference between Ampiltude and Magnitude but still i would like to take the honours to recall the difference between amplitude and magnitude. Amplitude can be Greater, Lessor or Equal to Zero and Magnitude is always Greater or Equal To Zero that means it is always positive (expext exactly equal to zero). Here in the amplitude plot at 13:30 you have plotted (wc+wc) amplitude as positive but clearly in the equation it has a negative sign hence the strength of the signal should be Negative. But that is what we don't see in this video lecture, Sir there are 150,114 views on this video but i wander how many of us have catch this crucial point here in this video. similary i have also seen some of your add up touches in standard signal in EMF in cordinate system and in the next lecture of in going playlist, you have mentioned MODULATING INDEX again and again, If you google Modulating Index what you will know is its MODULATION INDEX not Modulating Index. please sir i humbly request you to use the standard notation and definition as they are..........................................

1. You can take sine or cosine as carrier signal. 2. In plot of Amplitude vs frequency, you can never plot negative Amplitude, I don't know what you talk about differences in between Amplitude and magnitude. 3. Modulation index and Modulating index are same, it could be easily understood. But as you said we should mention it like Modulation index.

@@EngineeringFunda amplitude vs frequency as in the video you have plotted you did'nt mentioned that in amplitude and frequency plot we only consider the the magnitude value of the amplitude. And Sir, as you are telling "Amplitude vs frequency, you can never plot negative Amplitude" . Sir what i know is that one can definately plot Negative amplitude in amplitude vs frequency plot, what you just have to do is to take the Amplitude in dBm by doing that, we can plot the negative amplitude as well..... we should mention it like Modulation index. yes sir we should mention it as Modulation index. Because if we go by the deep meaning of the word they are found to be different.

In dB if it is Negative means it is less then 1, it doesn't mean it is negative, it means it is in between 0 to 1. You can see, I have mentioned that it is a plot of Amplitude vs frequency

Sir... For plotting frequency response, we need to apply fourier tramsform.. But you took the same timedomain amplitudes as frequency domain amplitudes which may not be equal...

It is there in frequency domain only

There is nothing wrong in that. Fourier transform is one method of plotting the frequency response of a time domain signal but it's not the only method we currently have. In above video, signals of constant frequency has been taken as an example so we can directly plot the frequency response by intuition, ie. an impulse of amplitude same as signal amplitude at a frequence 20Hz(example). If you look closely above frequency response is discrete in nature and can be obtained mathematically by Fourier Series.

@@narasimhal1 It's not clear what you meant by "differ from visualization". Don't make it complex than it looks. Just apply phasor diagram or apply euler's theorem.

What happen's when your modulated signal is composed such as m(t)= 2Cos(400t)+4Sin(500t+pi/3) that mean that the Am is 2 ? what about the Omega and the phase shift ?
