Devi is praised as, bhāṣārūpā [She who is in the form of language] (Sri Lalitha Sahasranama - 678) We cannot say that Devi dislikes English, as she is the source of all languages. Mahāpuruṣās do not need to specifically understand individual languages like English, as they are the embodiment of parā, paśyantī, and madhyamā. They comprehend all languages from the moment they take form within us and do not need to hear the spoken word to understand us. However, they often do not prefer speaking in English, possibly due to the cultural disintegration associated with its widespread use. Devi is the essence of all languages and alphabets, and certain letters are especially significant, known as "mantrākṣarās" Just as our mental state differs when discussing mundane versus noble matters, when certain alphabets are linked to form compound letters, they transform into "mantrākṣarās", which serve as tools to still and quiet the mind. The Lalitha Sahasranama is a sacred compilation of the most powerful and noble mantrākṣarās, praising Devi with divine names. Although it is impossible for us to know or contemplate all her names, the Sri Lalitha Sahasranama collects the most divine and noble ones. Just as medicine works without our understanding of its ingredients, the radiance of devotion grows within us even without full awareness. Singing a Bhajan is not about perfect orchestration or pronunciation; the most essential element is devotion, the remembrance of God. When we sing hymns, the core essence is remembering Amma, Devi. We are currently listening to explanations of the mantras under the topic “Bhaṇdāsuravadham,” and will continue exploring more in the upcoming episodes. There is no strict time limit for chanting the Sahasranama, as the infinite glory of Devi cannot be limited by words. Chant it with mindfulness, and it will deeply transform our lives. As we proceed with the mantras describing the slaying of the demon Bhandasura, we will uncover more insights in the episodes to come. To be continued.... #Lalita #LalithaSahasranamam
