Apples to Oranges...Why did you not used Supertech Full Synthetic? Amsoil is Full synthetic. Supertech is good stuff and probably at 1/3 the price. I am sure Amsoil is the superior product. As always...the main thing is that you change your fluids. I did used Amsoil in my rear differential of my 4x4. But used Supertech in the front much less used differential.

Thank you for the video I was curious how much better synthetic would be in the cold, I had 80W90 Dino in my Dana 60 and switched to Amsoil 80W90. I feel like it was the right choice. Can you do a test like this for power steering fluid as well?

I used amsoil 75w140 in my rear differential, dodge charger. And after a 1500ish mile drive I checked it and its silver metallic color, wondering if thats normal or what because the oil is clear out of the package?

This isn't really a comparison between Amsoil and Supertech as much as it is a comparison between different weights. Perhaps it would have been better to wait until you could get your hands on the same Supertech weight, or compare the two weights with Amsoil. It's a worthy test, but this doesn't really tell anyone anything.

Well given the fact they're both GL5 specification they meet that spec for many components. when an individual goes into a parts store and that's all they have they will get it and it does meet the specification for many different applications. You are aware of the differences between weights however many people don't understand and they will get whatever GL5 they need. The point of this video Kevin is to demonstrate that that not all lubricants that meet the specification are the same just like tires. The tires that come on a new Honda Civic are not the best tires you could put on that car. There are super high speed balance tires that have better grip softer for better ride and better wet traction. it's an individual's choice to select what they want for their vehicle. This video demonstrates that..... What do you want in your rear diff if you live where it's cold?

That's a great question they are not perfectly the same they were both in the same freezer but they both warm up not so inconsistent. Not a true apples to apples comparison. Conventional oil will always act different from synthetic. Nothing wrong with trying to sell a product but don't do it with an inaccurate bias.

If ypur vehicles not high powered or call for gl5 then dont use!the more additives make a coating. Aome metals in ypur tranny and diffs etc have softer metal then the coating and will get worn down. If your manual says gl4 then use gl4 the gl5 might be ok for 60,000 miles but in time things will down. Research it
