Longplay and review for "The A Team (El Equipo A)" on the Amstrad CPC!
I bet most of you never knew there was frickin' A TEAM game on the Amstrad!! If so I don't blame you, because bizarrely it was a Spanish only release! It's light gun compatible too, so it's Operation Wolf clone time.... which will be interesting seeing as the TV show is rather famous for no-one actually getting shot and being killed! And how come this never made it outside of Spain? Let's jump in that famous black van and find out if we're going to be pitying the fools who bought this game...

Remember : That's the same machine that can handle "Operation Wolf" and "Operation Thunderbolt" with a way smoother framerate.

Very true! Although there are quite a few that don't like Thunderbolt. I don't mind it so much.

Cheers for playing through this (so we don't have to!) lovely graphics but the lack of speed and the paucity of supplies is a buzz killer. I was spoiled by operation wolf.

Just makes you appreciate just how bloody good Operation Wolf was, one of the best arcade conversions on the Amstrad and I still think under appreciated!

@@Xyphoe I don't think your alone on that one 😅. Still the TV series is up there with Airwolf, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, The Fall Guy, Dukes of Hazard etc. ( How come we ( CPC ) didn't get The Fall Guy game? Spectrum owners did 🙁 )

I think most people have 'heard' of it, but it hasn't been on TV channels for many years as far as I know - at least in the UK, and I haven't seen it showing on the hundreds of channels Virgin has burdened me with for the last 5 years plus. Anyone under 40 wouldn't have seen it in it's heyday, I just turned 40 and I can barely remember much about it - I was still quite young at the time.

Looks like the developers spent so much money on obtaining the licence, there wasn't much left over for anything else... "I PITY THE FOOL THAT PAID FULL-PRICE FOR THIS GAME!"

Who knows mate, feels like the light gun version was developed first with the joystick/cross hair version rushed after - with horrible reticle movement!

I suppose distributing a game outside of your own country is hard and if you don't have the contacts, know-how or money? Play it safe and release it locally.

I guess they could only negotiate rights for Spain only. Still bizarre how no other company could get it for any other territory.

Good luck getting anywhere in the Speccy version! For once, the lag in the Amstrad version makes it a more playable game because it gives you a chance!!
