Mine now, and I've still got it :P When I first moved back to Australia and didn't have the rest of my collection yet, your Mega Plus served me well. In fact, I played through the entirety of Doom using it! It ran at a surprisingly playable framerate when in low graphics mode and with the display window shrunk a bit - I managed to get the matching Mega Drive controller for it and a similarly cream-coloured Microvitech 15kHz and 31kHz monitor (still hunting the proper Amstrad one and the keyboard + joystick), and I've been using it to play Mega Drive games recently. Thanks again Shane! :D

9:55 Man ! I love the Mega Drive Version of Clown Vomit so much more then the Snes Port
@NixMcRetro6 жыл бұрын
Clown Vomit? Sounds like my sort of game! Did the SNES version at least introduce more colours?

Shane McRetro yeah but just something was missing probably the control scheme :P

The Amstrad Mega PC was my first ever computer. My parents had it stored for years and years and inevitably, stopped working. I threw it away only recently and already regret doing so! It was a great piece of kit and I've not seen anything quite like it since.

Hey hey, another friendly face - where do we hang out now? Is it still Assembler or the other site that wasn't Assembler but looked just like it?

I picked mine up for free from a computer store that went bust about ten years ago because nobody wanted it because it was too crappy to play pc games and nobody wanted megadrives so i got it because i had a car and i offered to take it rather than see it go to the dump. Sadly had to sell mine and most of my retro collection when i lost my job this year but it is a very interesting and fun to use system i didnt meddle to much with overdrive cpu boards you can boost this thing upto performance of around a pentium 75 however the power supply needs replacing so its hardly original anymore.

probably you gonna regret selling it, it always happens to me when I sell something thinking that I don't need it, which is true, but later I regret selling it and start hunting for another one!

Tell me about it Shane, I had to sell my two units as well. Which were the ones we talked about some years ago now :) . I just was never going to get around to restoring them fully and getting a hold of the monitor and other peripherals was just getting expensive.
@NixMcRetro6 жыл бұрын
Such a pain isn't it? At least someone else can enjoy them though right? And now we have documented them somewhat so everyone can enjoy them! :D
@Lupni3rd6 жыл бұрын
Indeed, my two went off to a person in France. I had my fun with them the same as yourself and now some one else can enjoy them :) I've still got my Compaq Presario 2200 series computers :) Never letting them go.

I'll never let go of my Athlon 500MHz CPU. Meant a lot getting to make my first PC. Started a craze even! I'll probably never part with the first revision Mega CD / Mega Drive I have! I need to recap those suckers bad! 😊

Hi. I've created a FB page called AMSTRAD MEGA PC FAN CLUB and I'd like if you could join in and share some photos of your setup or some thoughts on this topic. What do you think? Regards

Wow that intro sounds like the intro song of the cartoon The Power Team kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2imhqRmlLxprsU . Shane must be a fan.

If it's hip and hop, it's on the rooftop! Even the ads are rad! :D
@scotshabalam24326 жыл бұрын
No kidding! The retro-ads in that video were exceptional. I really liked the intro song in that show it's some basic power chords and stuff but when it's put together it really has a energetic quality that your intro song also shares, good job man.
