That looks awesome, especially the wheels, I really like the way they came out. The slicks are cool too with that lettering! The taillights look much better down there. Nice work!!!

I have a couple of cars with removable tops. I've found that a bead of rubber cement around their base where they will contact the car helps them grip and stay in place a lot better.

Nice! I'm building an altered using the chopped Coupe body. Another with a Roadster body. Both using the hot rod chassis with modifications. At least one with the kit Lincoln engine, but with a blower (not the kit Latham blower) on top. I'm thinking of a Hemi for the other. For the sticklers, those headers with the close set center pipes you used are not right for the Lincoln. OK for a 292 Y Block, or a Chevy. But your model. You do it as you want.
@grandpamarkshobbies12 күн бұрын
You should see the butchery I'm doing on the chopped version. It's not set up for what I'm doing, but it's going to work (Somehow) I love the idea of the Hemi. I know those weren't the right one's for the Lincoln, but honestly I hated the one's that came with the kit. Even after I re chromed them I just didn't care for them.
@mr.k255914 күн бұрын
Love your line, "You really need a third hand growing out of your chest". I'm curious... 1. What do you do with all of your completed builds? 2. You mount your engines on a cool piece of plastic. Did you make it or buy it?
@grandpamarkshobbies13 күн бұрын
LOL. Thank you. I have most of my completed builds on shelves in the shop. That is a motor stand that was 3D printed for me.

I have never done that before. What were you looking for?

I own a Volkswagen Dune Buggy and I've seen a Manx dune buggy model online. There are some slight differences between my dune buggy hood and a Manx hood, which I would provide pictures of my hood. Also, my tail laights are slightly different.
@grandpamarkshobbies11 күн бұрын
I will be honest with you. I've done that kit a while back in 2022 when it came back out, and I think you will be disappointed in it. It is an old mold and the detail is not what I'd hoped. It really does not fit all that well and it took me a while to make a. . . well, less than display worthy build. Just so you know that up front. Watch a couple of build videos on it and take a look at the end results of their builds. They all act like they had fun, but you can see that it doesn't come out as nicely as their other work.
