Amtrak and Chessie at Hamilton, Ohio

I visited Hamilton around the time this was filmed around 81 or 82. I remember the old B&O signals. A couple years ago I filmed the train station being moved. That is cool seeing Amtrak stop at the station. Maybe someday it will stop at the station again. That has been proposed.

I recognize this because I still go to Hamilton, Ohio on some occasions to watch trains. It has definitely changed though.

When "hanging out" at the Hamilton depot, you needed to look out for the trains and the even faster prostitutes.

Frame at 2:00 shows a 1978 LeSabre or later,,,this was before the 1981 re-alignment of the main, so this era was 1978-1980.

@@RailroadMediaArchiveok thanks, scratching the old memories, wasn’t then the JWR an Indianapolis to Chicago train in those days? ( on old NYC thru Lafayette) If I recall correctly now, The Cardinal on CSX was routed thru Muncie, Marion and Peru , correct?

@@petertaviano9593 The.JWR was renamed Cardinal in 1977. Because of Penn Central's poor track conditions it was routed onto the C&O, then onto its current routing via Indianapolis in 1986.
