Amtrak F40PHR unit 231 Tribute

Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. This new video is a special tribute to EX Amtrak F40PHR unit 231/DYRX F40PHR unit 231. Amtrak F40PHR unit 231 has come a long way scene it was built and I am thankful that Dynamic Rail Preservation/DYRX saved it from being scrapped.
The EMD F40PH/F40PHR will always have a rightful spot in the history book of North American railroading and Amtrak The National Passenger Rail Corporation.

It would be cool to see the 231 with the "Daylight" 4449 because of the livery, it would be awesome as would the 4449 with the E9 6051 (another surviving Daylight locomotive and the only E9 from SP that still survives) but what would you think of the 231 in the Daylight livery with 4449? I would find it amazing.

its interesting how in the steam era hardly anything was preserved, everyone thought of them as just machines. but as time went on more and more things get saved, now days we have records of almost everything.

There's something funny about #231. Amtrak F40PHR #231 was the whole reason why Dynamic Rail Preservation began. DYRX acquired the unit in 2002 and then they acquired #644.

We almost lost #231 to the scrapper's torch too. Thanks to Dynamic Rail Preservation we still have #231 with us. We love you #231. I don't love #231 more than Jesus. It's funny how they gave Amtrak #231 Southern Pacific paint

While I'm thankful to see 231 be saved from scrap, the fact they just repainted it into a daylight knockoff scheme in favor of keeping it's operation Lifesaver scheme makes me upset.

I heard that 231 will be repainted back into phase 3 pretty soon.
