Amtrak Orlando | Guide | Train Ride to Savannah

Did not know that about Ernest Christmas movie. Also didn’t know about the limited parking space. Been to that train station before but never rode any trains from there. We did ride plenty of Eurostar trains before. Savannah is a nice city to visit. Someone kicked off the train now is there a no rail list like a no fly list 😂

There was no parking there on Friday but a few spots on Monday. We parked at a hotel with more security. The trains in Europe look amazing! We want to take the brightline next. I was wondering if they had a no train list too lol. The train was only a few cars and we did not hear any commotion. They handle the situation really well. Thanks for watching! 🙂

That was on my bucket list as well. Just did it 2 months ago. Took the meteor to Jax from Polk. It was an excellent ride. Can't wait to do it again. Earnest saves Christmas was my fave! "Is this where the movie picture folks be? "😅

@fgeiger41 we have three more Savannah videos coming out soon. Things to do, 180 year old airbnb we stayed in and the Christmas market. Mike and I are in love with the city and want to return for some hotel hopping. I was just starting to learn my way around when we had to leave. I think the squares are my favorite park about the city. 22 squares each a few blocks from each other. So cool!

I always wanted to go on Amtrak trains, thanks for the information. Savannah is definitely a city I want to visit. I did not know about the Orlando, FL to Savannah,Ga connection.

The train stops at a bunch of cities in Fl going all the way down to Miami. In North and Central Fl, the stops are Jacksonville, Palatka, DeLand, Winter Park, Orlando, Kissimmee, Lakeland, etc. They had a pick-up in Tampa, but it is a bus that brings you to Orlando. If you are closer to Kissimmee, I would catch it there. I am glad our little video helped you decide if the train is right for you. We wanted to do something since there was such little information out there about it. You can print out your ticket or just do what I did and download the app. Your ticket is a QR code in the app that they scan. We brought Publix subs on the train to save some money. The Orlando Amtrak station is so close to my job. I take the Sunrail there a lot!! Almost daily! I wish I could've helped you out with parking but that location is not great for it! I hope you try Amtrak again, there are so many great routes! I hope you get a chance to do a bedroom or roomettes too, they are pricey but nice on the longer routes plus include free meals! We were glad we had parked off site. There was nowhere to park when we arrived. We had fun. Mike wants to do a roomette one time. We would probably do it on a long trip, though. The seats were perfect for a 6 hour trip. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Is this your first time on Amtrak? I noticed that you checked the smaller restroom. The other one is more roomy almost twice as big and not that scary 😅 Across country routes Amtrak using Super liners, those are two floor cars and much smoother ride. Also have viewing car and dining car. I recommend taking from Denver to San Francisco route through the Rocky Mountains. Glad you got to test out the Amtrak. I use it all the time even here in Florida 👍

We rode the silver Meteor 97 and 98. Was there a bigger bathroom? We only had access to 3 cars and the dining cart. It was a lot of fun though. Mike was happy he didn't have to drive. Denver to San Francisco sounds amazing! Mike wants to do more train travel. The super liner sounds awesome! Thanks for telling us more about the train! 🙂

@@FloridaandBeyond bathrooms are next to each other, looks like you checked out the smaller one. Right said is smaller and the left side is bigger. Superliners have different layouts. East coast train cars are all smaller and not that smooth ride, definitely recommend to check out coast to coast super liners at some point. I would recommend flying to Denver and taking the overnight to San Francisco. Most scenic route.

Amtrak is basic, but the seats are bigger than plane seats and probably more comfortable. The train is perfect for shorts trips. We only paid 440 for 4 people roundtrip. It would be almost 1k for 4 people from Orlando and not nonstop. It's definitely worth it! Thanks for watching! One day we have to get together again! 🙂

Love the video! Might take soon as my baby hates her carseat and we have a wedding to make. Was the train on time heading to savannah? Could you walk around a little if needed?

@nikr9240 The train was on time there but broke down on the way back. Planes have the same problem at times. We were 2 hrs late getting home. It was a fun ride! The seats are comfortable, and you can walk back and forth to the dining car. Bring some food as dining car can be expensive. There were plugs in the seat. Download something fun to watch on your phone so they can be entertained. You will need to Uber from Savannah station as it is in the middle of nowhere. If you take the train, we hope you have a great time and safe trip!

Was Uber or Lyft plentiful to get to and from the station? If I remember right the last time I looked coming home you have to catch the silver meteor pretty early in the morning heading south.

We caught the silver 97 from Savannah at 6:49am. It was a very early moring for us. There were Ubers/lyfts during all times of the trips. The rides did cost some money, though. It was between 22 and 31 a trip. The train was pretty fun and we would do it again. It was a nice trip to Savannah. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Yes I would take the silver meteor as well at 6:49 AM. The silver star comes through even earlier at 4:30AM. That would be rough.
