Correct me if I'm wrong, but this video has 21 thousand views? It certainly is a great snapshot of days gone by... when the Toasters were doing what toasters do. It deserves every one of those views, in honor of those locomotives on this continent who died after giving their lives in service at home. We salute you, #savetheAEM-7s #savetheHHP-8s #savetheScreamers #savetheMBBs #SD45livesmatter #savethegraftonanduptonfleet for your service.

Actually, it had nothing to do with the AEM-7's. There was a power outage in Rye, making all trains go diesel between New Haven and New York. Also, Acela service only ran between New York and Washington. I know because I was there

Nice video and the P32AC-DM would go diesel from New Haven down to Sunnyside yard in Queens, NY then electric power to 34th Street Penn Station Amtrak station due to the East River tunnel banning diesel exhaust
@AcelaBoy21519 жыл бұрын
The P32AC-DM's actually can go electric also because of the third rail on the engine
@paulw.woodring73045 жыл бұрын
My somewhat educated guess about the Diesels towing the motors is that there was probably a problem with the overhead wires somewhere on the line you didn't see.

Ryan Hatterer My mistake it's to be a P-32ACDM is a dual mode diesel electric, and can run on the 750 DC 3rd rail, P-40 is a older unit as the P-42's are rebuilt P 40's. now the other unit Amtrak has is a D8-32BWH which is what I for some reason got mix up with the P-32.

would have been a lot of great shots but for constant movement of camera. Please if you can cope with a little constructive critisism. choose where you want to shoot and leave the camera to do its work. don't decide to manually move the camera with all its vibration and shake to change the shot in the middle of a train moving out. i had to stop watching after a few minutes because I couldn't cope with the constant changes and shake which spoiled it for me
