I gotta watch this every time I take Train 43, The Pennsylvanian. It puzzles me why the exchange is not done in Harrisburg. I'm not complaining because this 1/2 hour layover gives me time to go into one of the most beautiful train lobbies left in the country.

Why is the switch made at PHL, and not Harrisburg?

30 Street Station is the only station in Philadelphia that serves the Amtrak Pennsylvanian, plus it's alot easier to make the switch at this station since the tracks split just northwest of the station.
