I swear if Amtrak doesn't find a way to use them after they are replaced by the Avelias... They are unironically one of the most "modern" trains they have. Like half the fleet is older than the Acelas. They have the budget of your average school party so they can't start to throw away the only other electric stock they have.

If only they had actually been able to do all the line upgrades so the Acela could use its 150mph speed in more than 3 short sections of track. Still it's the muscle car of trains, 200mph traction motors (12,400hp) geared down to 150mph, making the Acela one of the fastest accelerating trains ever built.
