Awesome video !!!! So the first room you showed is indeed the Handicap Bedroom, which is why it has the toilet with just a curtain separating it. The room on the other end is known as the Family Bedroom. The only bedroom on Amtrak that does not include toilet facilities but can accommodate up to a family of 5. From what I am told up to 4 comfortably but it can squeeze in 2 adults and up to 3 kids or 4 adults. Anyway thank you for taking the time to make this video.

This was awesome. Long ago, my (late) aunt took me on a train ride, from Alberta to British Columbia, but I don't remember it, because I was very young. I would like to go on a train ride in the future. Cheers, Nickolas! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️

@@rocket_propellar5416 My (late) aunt told me about it. She said that she took me on a train ride when I was very young. That's how I know about it.

I've taken the train from Dallas to Austin multiple times. It's a nice little trip. I always buy the coach seat and big up to the roomette or bedroom. It's a lot cheaper than buying the full ticket.

What do you mean by "big up"? Will you please share what this cost? (I'm really trying to learn 😊)

Awesome video of AMTRAK, I was on Amtrak from San Antonio to Dallas, I didn't get to experience the sleeper car cuz I didn't need it. I moved from San Antonio Texas to Boulder Colorado, and if I go to San Antonio by Amtrak I have to go by way of Chicago🤣 Overall I really did enjoy the video, I may have to go back to Texas soon, and would have to get a handicap room, cuz of cardiac issues. God-Bless on your adventures. AWESOME VIDEO 👏📸

It’s not the Orient Express but it is an old fashioned way of traveling. We’ve done a few round trips before C-19 and they had table service and great food. ♥️

Is this from your original trip to Texas or is this a new trip? Ha, Nevermind I just watched and answered my own question. 🙂

That was a bedroom. If you looked around the corner next to the single seat, there is a bathroom/ shower. I just took one from Austin to Mineola the first of February. It was a great trip. The staff was wonderful.

You definitely need one of those train cars set up on a piece of land. It would make an epic house.

Thank you! Will you please be so kind as to share some of the cost ranges? What does it cost to go from Dallas to San Antonio with a bedroom, for example? Also, are guests allowed to bring their own snacks?

I’ve looked into travelling by train in the U.S. but it’s always been more expensive than flying. But I hate flying and would like to do it one day. I had a EuroRail pass when I backpacked through Europe long ago and I was able to use it for sleeper cars and do a lot of the traveling at night. Super convenient and saved money. Do you have to do the whole trip straight through? I’m guessing you can’t just get off, spend a day or two in a city and then hop on another train?

I always thought it would be neat to take a train across country or maybe do 2 day ride somewhere

Thanks Nicholas - I really enjoyed your vlog! I've been on a couple of basic sleeper trains in Australia and appreciated seeing the comparison. Keep up the great vids and can we look forward to more travel vlogs?

Would this be safe for a 73 yo woman traveling by herself from Houston, TX to Modesto,CA? How much luggage can you take
@NickolasGreenOutdoors3 ай бұрын
it is safe. the train does rock though. when you walk down the cabs you have to hold onto seats. if you get a sleeper cab it is alot smoother. i was able to have two bags .
