Really good video. Recently found your channel and love how much background/history you include. I’ve learnt lots of new things from your videos

Always love your videos - don't know why, but you are very ... "approachable". Keep up the great work.

Great video. I don't know why some people are angsty about it - life would be boring if everyone only ever did one exact thing all the time. You specifically compared it to flying, so people can know the pros and cons of this alternative. A lot of people who visit USA do Amtrak once (most never do it a 2nd time, for good reason!) You don't know how on the mark you were about the "kindergarten" comment about their seat allocation procedures. You were very lucky to get an empty seat beside you - they like filling up cars entirely and then leave half of the train cars completely empty to make less work for themselves, bugger the comfort of the passengers.

Great video. Big fan of trains never on an amtrek, but coast starlight is always a dream!

I love taking the train occasionally to Denver or Chicago, as I'm right in between along the California Zephyr line. My local Amtrak station finally received an eBike rental dock, which is great because it's about 2 miles from my apartment (where we also have a dock). Before that, it was an unnecessary Uber ride, yet too far to walk. I might feature a bike-n-train trip report sometime on my channel!

It looks like the U.S. with their trains live in 19th century. Such developed country with such trains. Great video though, love your sense of humour and history plugs. If you’re planning to come to London, I’d love to be your guide in London and show you around 😊 looking forward to watching the next one

Lol. Somehow I don't think so. Only the needy and the sadistic resort to Greyhound.

You missed out by not going to the dining car. It's nothing exceptional, but I understand that the covid-era "frozen dinners in the microwave" are a thing of the past, and they've gone back to decent food options. That said, those prices seem way higher than I remember! But yeah, I really like trains, and Amtrak.........ain't it.
