Amtrak Trains on the Santa Barbara Subdivision

Amtrak Coast Starlight and Pacific Surfliners along Union Pacific's Santa Barbara Sub. This scenic line runs from Moorpark, CA up to San Luis Obispo, CA. Most of the rail traffic is comprised of Amtrak & Metrolink with some occasional freights. I hit up several areas on the line... locations included in the video.
All footage was shot around the Christmas/New Years Holiday season 2018/2019. Got a lot of solid crews doing extra work with the horn, including a sick Jingle Bells rendition in Santa Barbara!

Ok, the Union Pacific train seen at 18:00 has been sitting there for over three weeks now. I ride my bike over the Glen Annie bridge to and from school everyday and it has just been static. Do you know why it is there? Is it just low priority or something?

sbaviator I believe it’s stored there because of yard storage space being low. UP uses some of the Coast Line sidings for storage since they don’t use that line as often.
