@@thesharpercoder Amtrak lists this exact vacation route on their website as the "grand rail experience" . I came to youtube looking for people who did that exact vacation on amtraks website. This video popped up, had I known it was a compilation of videos from years ago, I wouldn't have clicked on this video.

The night view of Moynihan Train Hall in Manhattan at the 1:57:30 mark was awesome. Orange and Blue on Madison Square Garden on the left. The train hall in the center. And the Moynihan Food Hall lit up on the right. The trains depart from Penn Station, which is located underneath MSG. You take a long escalator ride from the Train Hall underneath the street to reach the track levels. Penn Station used to feel like a subway station on steroids until they built the Moynihan Train Hall. Nevertheless, Moynihan doesn’t approach the grandeur of Grand Central Terminal. The actual Grand Central Station is located below the Met-Life building. It has no basement. It’s multiple levels of train tracks.

I've been watching Rob and Allie's channel and videos for several years. I learned much from them and I've told others about their channel. But, this video's title, and the first minute or two of the video, is false advertising. The title and video intro makes you think they did 16 nights on multiple trains as a single vacation. They certainly did not. On the Empire Builder, Allie says they are traveling in May. Then, on another section of the video Rob says it is near Labor Day. On the Crescent, I can see a date on a sign in one of the Amtrak stations and it says "March 20". Look at the trees with and without leaves, depending on the train they are on. Look at the clothing people are wearing (sometimes warm-weather and sometimes cold-weather). I give Rob and Allie credit for having taken all these trips over the years and having built a KZbin following that allows them to live off their KZbin income. I give them credit and thank them for all the info they've conveyed to their viewers, like me, over the years. But this video is dishonest and I would have expected more from them. At the very least they could have explained in the comments that they were creating this video from 5 other videos they had made in the past. In the comments section they could have provided the links to those videos so we could watch, or re-watch, the original full-length video of each train trip. On their retirement channel, I believe they mentioned that they have moved to Thailand. That could explain why they needed to create this video, since they need to keep the channel active. With all of the above in mind, I will now be much more careful about whether I spend my valuable time watching one of their videos if I think it is merely a rehash of a previously uploaded video.

I enjoy your videos a lot. I find them relaxing and help me to decompress. I have no problem with y’all re-editing or reusing footage, but please do away with the music beds and go with natural train sounds. Re-editing to provide for a music free experience would be most welcomed, even on older previously published footage, where you might want to softly voiceover your memories of your travels. I know you must have other stories to tell. ❤️

@@wasmadeinthe80s It seem this was filmed a few years ago. We have taken both the Zephyr and Empire Builder in the last year. I still see masks in the station, they also dont let you sit accross from eachother anymore. Its now 4 to a table. Finally the lobster cake, tamale and carrot cake have not been on the menu for some time now. So my guess is filmed in the middle of May 2022. Maybe 2023, but prob 2022.

Hi Rob & Allie, We just finished your KZbin posting. What a project this was! We really enjoyed it! We’re new to Amtrak. We vacationed in Europe and really enjoyed traveling by rail . Question for you: We noticed that when you changed trains you had a couple of days staying in a local hotel. We travel handicap so this would probably be a good idea for us too. Do you know if there is a listing of convenient hotels very close to the larger stations? Please keep up the good work. Hope to meet you sometime on the train. How could it be a May entering Seattle and then Labor Day a few days later hiking the trails. This video is presented as one long circle trip. Again like several previous videos they are mixing and matching old videos fooling the public. Not necessarily a professional approach. Disappointing.

If you actually watch the video, you’ll see that they got off the train, she said they rented a car and she mentioned they spent a lil over 3 months at an undisclosed location or locations that was in the Mount Ranier area bc you can see they shared with us them hiking on different trails. So that explains being on a train in the Seattle area and then Labor Day on hiking trails….it wasn’t a few days later 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Then total nights spent on trains added up to ‘round 16 or 19 nights bc that was the plan for the trip…showing us how they got from point A back to point A again using the railway system. They made other overnight stops where they stayed for several nights, some for a couple nights, and some overnights too in different states. Don’t play wit’em! Play witcho mama

@@thefreckledafrikanMaybe YOU should watch the video again. They are definitely mixing and matching old videos together. I have seen many of them before. In fact some of the menu items are no longer served. Some of the videos are from several years ago in fact. Probabely 2022. For another example look at the video of NYC. They arrive during winter time, at the vessel its spring, however by the time they walk over to the skyline it magically becomes summer. Then it goes back to spring. When they are in LIC by the Pepsi sighn its back to winter. They cobbled together a bunch of footage and said it was one trip. It is what it is.
