I remember when you flew from IND to MYR and back on an allegiant maddog, I loved that trip. Awesome to see you back at IND, truly an incredible and beautiful airport.

IND is my home airport!! One of my favorite airports I've ever visited. I'm so excited for our new Aer Lingus service to Dublin!! That is really going to help IND grow!!

Just found your channel today and I loved this video for multiple reasons. I drive to Indy at least once a year to see friends and attend the races in Speedway, IN. So I have never experienced this route before. It was interesting to see the old cabin layout on this 737, especially those screens I haven’t seen since 2016. I miss being able to adjust the screen. Now I feel I can’t recline my seat my seat on those long 4+ hour flights. When you mention Northwest some memories came flowing back. I flew them for 10 years and even though by today’s standards the aircraft were dated, I still miss that amazing fleet they had. The 747s and especially the DC-10s up until 2007 behind the fountain were always the moments that I remember. However, there was nothing else like a DC-9. Those takeoffs and those JT8D’s were amazing. The best part was watching DTW push those DC-9s out one after another, rarely ever holding short. I really miss seeing that among their other fleet. Thank you so much for this trip report! Just the little things like those old screens are amazing to me. Have fun on your trip to Hawaii!

I seriously miss the IND-CDG route, even though I never flew on it. Though, huge props to Aer Lingus for fixing the gap in trans-atlantic flights. Either way, I may be biased since I'm a hoosier but IND is my favorite airport. Parking is easy, shuttles are quick, terminal is kept really clean, and TSA is most of the time really quick.

very rare for such a short distance flight like between Indianapolis and detroit to be that big of a plane

2:32 Reminds me of boarding on a flight to/from Pakistan or India, or even a domestic flight in either of the two countries.

I was going to take a DL 737 from BOS-RSW, but decided against it opting for the JetBlue A220.

4:33 I actually was on AA3097 as a CRJ, SKW3097. Now 3097 is mainline. AAL3097. Weird.

@@JoeDFWAviation exactly it’s so weird to see them shifting those flight numbers to mainline

I took one of these in 2014, LAX-SLC. It had a 5-digit tail number: N3756. Idk why they didn’t put a letter at the end of it like they usually do.

Great video! You're definitely right about the morning flights to larger hubs from IND being larger aircraft. IND-MSP is a 739 in the morning, and the rest of the Delta flights are E-jets.

United and American Airlines both send the 737 from O’Hare to Indy, United sends mostly the 737-700 but I’ve seen the 737-800 as well, AA sends the 737-800 mostly but has been swapped out for the MAX 8 and the A321neo in the past.

IND is my home airport. It is rather convenient if I am flying someplace that doesn't connect through ORD. Sometimes it just more efficient for me to drive to ORD from Westfield, rather than driving all the way to IND, spend 2 hours before my actual flight to ORD then spend at least an hour at ORD before connecting onto Europe. I too am excited about the non-stop flights from IND to DUB via Aer Lingus. As for the amount of time it took to board/deboard, if you look at your own video of the people on the jet bridge, quite a few of them had full size luggage, not true carry-on luggage. All of that should have been checked and the boarding/deboarding would have been so much faster. That is a big sticking point for me, seeing all of these different people bringing on full size luggage of all sorts instead of only bringing on luggage that can easily be stored in the overhead compartments.

Something new I learned from this video, using a rough 'finger distancing' method, IND does indeed look closer to Champaign than ORD! When it came time for the family to fly to HNL, who makes the decision on what airline to fly, what airport to fly out of, what class of service to HNL and so on? Who actually books the necessary flights or does the resident avgeek take care of the details? :)

There was no reason whatsoever for you to insert "literally" before "flying to Detroit" ...
