BNSF Local in Downtown San Diego??

I've been coming to this crossing the past 26 years on/off and this is the first time I've seen this... BNSF 119 leading a local south into downtown San Diego crossing Noell St around 145am in March 2021. Never seen the local go this far South. Not sure if this is a regular thing now or just this one time occurrence? Also tossed in a few randoms at the end too...

BNSF's Miramar local is now based out of San Diego, Escondido local is still based out of Stuart Mesa

Nice catch! I know years ago, they used to go all the way down to San Diego. I caught them in Old Town once, shortly before PacSun took over. Maybe they're going back to the way they used to run it now that BNSF has the contract again?

Thanks dude... Ya it's gotta be an operational change now that the BN is in control. I bet the locals did run back in the day but I never really filmed after dark down there! Too sketchy! Ha!

From what I was told, the Miramar Local stopped its run from Stuart Mesa and the cars are now being taken to downtown to be hooked onto the DAYGO there. The Escondido Local still serves Stuart.

Ya figured it had something to do with an operational change with the BN now running this service. So the local just goes from Miramar to Downtown now?

I think it was the BNSF Miramar local. BNSF took it over a few months ago.

Woah! i caught 119 at Middletown last week on the 11th coming in about 2pm with 3722 as the lead loco. i'll try to upload the video soon. some interesting and strange things are happening with BNSF down here lately.

When I worked the ticket office there was regularly a local that came up from downtown late at night. I thought that was the Miramar, and only the Escondido came out of Stuart Mesa? I dunno, that was 15 years ago.

Ya who knows man... There probably were locals years ago, but I never filmed any, too ghetto to be hanging round the tracks past 10pm!! :-0!!
