3 Trains at Port Huron, MI 8/2/22

Back at my old railfanning stomping grounds in the form of the Port Huron, Michigan Amtrak station. Longtime viewers should recognize this location from several of my older videos years ago. Anyway, on a day that wasn't terribly hot or humid for once this summer, I decided to see what CN had on offer. From 3 PM to 6 PM in the time I spent there, I saw 3 trains, not bad for Port Huron given traffic can be a bit sporadic. Not much in leading power variety, but a train is a train. One westbound and two eastbounds were fashioned for the day's show. Eastbound trains are bound for somewhere in Canada, getting there by way of the 6,129 ft. (1,868 m) St. Clair River Tunnel. Trains begin their downhill 2% descent east just before the 3 head signal seen with the 2nd train. While they start out slow, they speed up to 50-60 mph (80-97 km/h) to tackle the 2% grade on the Canadian side of the tunnel and stop in Sarnia's large train yard. The same process applies for westbound trains, excluding the fact they're flying into Port Huron instead of crawling out. American crews are exchanged for Canadian ones to take their trains further into Canada once arriving in Sarnia yard. This process applies for westbound trains as well. On both sides as well, customs checks are run and clearance for the tunnel is ensured.

I live near the CN main line in southern Ontario. Most of this traffic would ultimately be going past here. It's weird that the consists of these trains seems quite different to what I see running here. The first two trains seem longer than what I normally see for the equipment used. The third one was more similar to what I normally see in length. I know it's just a snapshot, and I'm not seeing every train going by but it just struck me as being a little bit unusual.

About time you release the P 32 it is still my favorite locomotive even if it’s replaced on Amtrak to this day i’m also excited for the Genesis but about the HHP-8 that’s another question Regardless

You should railfan some Great Lakes Central trains & some Lake State Railway trains. There's a track that goes near my house and its owned by the GLC. You should railfan on that rail line or something. Just a idea.
