Interesting that the railroads that complained about the SDP units had very poor trackage.

Dude! How could you forget us? Berlin was not the first one who made electric subway trains, but us. In the European continent beside Bri'an Austria Hungary built the very first electrical subway in Budapest. It is called: kisföldalatti. Besides we havea also built railroads along the Austo Hungarian borders. Ganz Mávag, later known as MÁV (Hungarian satte railways) had built very fine locomotives (see: 424 trains). If you do not know what it is, check it out. I know, our prime minister is ruining teh rails in Hungary, and we are the worst in it in Europe. But, we used to be great.

Hello from Cheshire. I really enjoyed your video on the BR logo. I agree with DAlycidon. You really know your stuff. Some older railfans often poo poo the BR blue era as being boring but I like it because of the variety of rolling stock and locomotive and multiple unit classes used in that period. From about 1977 I think subtle variations of BR Blue began to appear and large logo blue first appearing in the following year. In my opinion this latter livery was a great improvement over original BR blue and did justice to the locomotives painted into it.

Yeah, the new cars stink... Been on them several times from Detroit to Chicago. Also, not worth upgrading to business class since those new cars are uncomfortable as well.

I found this quite an informative video! Now, I know more about the flops in Amtrak's 40-year history, including why the _Spirit_ _of_ _California,_ _Fort_ _Pitt,_ and _Lake_ _Country_ _Limited_ failed (budget balancing, low ridership, and a planned connecting service not coming into fruition, respectively). Thanks for the video!

The music with trains running through the scenery,is just mind blowing. Like it matches with it perfectly.the last bit with the main central units going through the wood and small town my favorite.

The first several years the Saginaw county fairgrounds in Chesaning, Michigan was used as the North Pole. GLC, the host railroad, no longer uses that line so North Pole was moved to Ashley.

I’ve had a question forever and could never find the answer so maybe you fellers could help. What year did the F40PH’s get ditch lights on the front of the cabs? Was it a regional thing or just how they were ordered?
