Oh wow, there is so much abastract algebra and number theory here! I have a question. So, if I am not mistaken, these are a kind of group action. For the cases where there mapping is a permutation (and symmetric), we have that the application of some homomorphism maps every element into an element of the original set. Is this an endomorphism? I am trying to remember my algebra and it is just screaming at me!

The reason they're not symmetrical is because you're not using all of the points.
