@@chinatsuw don't worry. UBW is perfectly fine to start with before Zero. In my opinion, UBW is better suited to beginners (since following a clueless protagonist makes the story easier to digest) while Zero only existed to be an exposition dump in context to already knowing the original story. So watching at least one of the basic routes before Zero is actually better lol. It's also nice that you enjoyed Apocrypha, since for long time Fate fans it was really mixed in reception lmao, same as how I feel. Had a really cool cast and had a strong start though I felt it got very weak in the second half lol.

Fate/Zero is really deep, majestic, mature and philosophical, whereas Fate/Apocrypha is really boring, its fighting scenes isn't detailed and skilled like Zero, it's just drawn negligently and not eye-catching,it feels like the heroes just swing swords at each other's face with no technique, or tactic, just swing. And how about the content? Zero is really deep and philosophical, whereas Apocrypha is too childish, its types of character has no diffrences to other popular animes, they're too typical, not unique. Just imagine our historical heroes turn into some childlike girls with 10-year-old high voices that makes the whole anime not serious, does not depict the majesty of the heroes. You say the anime has depth? It is true that the characters say some philosophical statements about their biographies, but they are pretty forced, it feels like they are crammed in, not bringing sympathy to the viewe. The anime also doesn't describe their biographies well, I don't even recognize the heroes because the anime is so uninformed. In short, Apocrypha is no different from other popular anime series, the Fate series is increasingly losing quality.

@@edinburgh.dpa5 I admit when fate apocrypha is compared to fate zero it does pale in comparison however these also have two different story lines so when neither animes can compete in terms of the story because they're different (apart from the holy grail part ) generally speaking you say they don't dive into hero's past enough yet most of there wishes are based off their legend and from fate/zero the only past we know properly is artoria and kiritsugu though we do know how they lived the only properly detailed character was artoria that is to not say there wasn't enough it's just it would take too long considering the amount of servants there are About animation it's not as good as fate/zero however it's not terrible either I think the animation of Jeanne vs atalante was really good (but that's my opinion) I think they should have shown more screentime with Jeanne and seig or karna and semiramis. I kind of want to go over the cons and pros with certain characters though. Cons -seig was a bit plain but we also got to see his will to fight (for freedom and so humans don't become immortal that's shirou kotomines wish though they give him a redemption in the fate grand order: apocrypha event. Semiramis- she mentions shes taken some sort of love to him however I wish we as the audience could have gotten more screentime of this and her past and why she desires the grail Jeanne Darc- despite her position as a ruler I wanted to know what she was like as a person in her life time and why she loves seig. Achilles- he's very badass and all but considering his so called "love" for atalante we never see why all we know is he heard of her when he was younger. Chiron- I wish we could see more relations with him and his master (fiore yggdmellenia) and how he feels about having to go up his own student and to his beliefs as a teacher. Astolfo- something annoying fate does is carry on his "the I'm a trap" thing when personally I like him for his enthusiastic and irrational personality however I also wish to know his feelings about seig Shakespeare- alright let's be honest shakespeare is pretty fucking useless he can jump in a hole Jack the ripper -it has nothing to do with her character development but more of her outfit I understand the outfit is reference to the prostitute's of white-chappel but it's a bit to fan service and oversexualised however there is a covered outfit of her I saw on reddit that I really liked and they should have gone with. Frankenstein- despite lack of scenes we get from here we know a lot and her relationship with her master is adorable sweet and wholesome. Mordred- a lot of the fandom has come to love her and I see why her relationship with her master and why she behaves the way she does Jack the ripper- her relationship with her master too (or she refers to as mommy) despite them being a bunch of physcopathic murders is because they do it for each other hell jack even saw the person that summoned her as evil and went with the prostitute (yes jacks master was one) as her master for that reason And I think fate went really good with these pairs. You also said something along the lines of "fate is increasingly losing its quality" I also disagree in that because of what's recently come out Like babylonia was amazing and they gave medusa the attention she needed And fate stay night: heavens feel III. That's just my opinion and I don't expect you to agree.

There is not really an order I believe, but chronology Fate/stay night is the first.

The bottom line is that the different fate routes all reveal an element of the whole story, so hence why some may suggest Fate/Zero first, or inversely, after the Fate/Stay Night, Fate UBW and Fate/Heaven's feel routes. I will tell you this much. I watched Fate/Zero first, then Fate/Stay Night, Fate UBW and Fate/Heaven's Feel (the last film for Heaven's Feel is about to release global soon). Fate/Apocrypha (the AMV's content) is like a whole different story, namely a different world line if you will. People might suggest watching it after the ones I mentioned just for clarity, seeing as Fate/Apocrypha is almost like Studio Ufotable's way of saying "we're going to make things a little different here", a contrast to the previous releases in the Fate series.
