It motivated me to become better and eventually became a United States Marine. gives me nostalgia listening to this. it's crazy how anime music gave me a lot of motivatioon.

SPOILERS FOR MANGA Ippo is becoming a monster in his retirement, not only has his power and speed nearly doubled from the weights on his arms and legs but he has also mastered dodging, learned to effectively use counters, upgraded the dempsey roll and is learning how fight ambidextrous/southpaw and theres no telling how far he will improve in the future as well. Please i want ippo to have at least 1 more match with it being against ricardo martinez win or lose i just wanna see him go all out with everything hes learned. Miyata also deserves his fight against ippo even though I think ippo would win medium to high difficulty leaning more toward high.

Hajime no Ippo made me start with boxing back in 2012. My favorite type of exercise. I box the heavy bag to this day.

I love how Ippo was so enthusiastic to fight Ichiro despite the fact that he was at a disadvantage (no response to counters, massive openings in the D Roll), and the only reason he couldn't was because Kamagowa forbade it. But the second Ippo covered up that flaw with the improved D Roll Ichiro withdrew his challenge, it says a lot about their characters...

The good ol' times when Ippo was a boxer, before Kamogawa went full stupid and he self-destructed. But I guess it's only fitting, Ippo never really had the "thirst" to be a World Class contender. Always focusing on a goddamn sunday punch instead of working on the basics. Always trying to please others and never thinking about what he truly wanted. Someone like that can't beat the World Champion.
