Hi Heriticked! "Deadeye" here. Well, it was myself and my friend Kevin staying up all night with a pirated copy of Premiere in the summer of 2001. I'm impressed by the amount of work you put into this remake, it is very faithful to the original, you even fixed some of my errors (I'm looking at you, 2:36). Working on the AMVs that summer motivated me to major in film in college, something I had never previously considered. It makes me feel great to know that the work inspired other people, and it's crazy to think someone would pour their heart into working on it again 17 years later. Thanks for the remake, the credit (you don't know how many times people have just cut off the bumper and posted it with their own), and the kind words.

Hey there! Nice to meet you! I tried to contact you before I started the project, but the email listed on your Org profile was defunct. I'm glad you found it! I thought this was going to be a straight forward remaster, but the effects you used weren't easy to recreate. The glowing eyes at 4:20 wasn't too difficult, but the two effects shots at 3:16 were tricky. Merging Gemma's head together like that and the crazy animated mirror of Benisato were a lot of trial and error. Definitely learned a few things though! :) I've only been editing (on and off as a hobby) since 2007, but I've been a fan of AMVs since they first started popping up on the internet in the late 90s. Yours was definitely one of my early favorites. Kudos to you as well!

I actually forgot I did anything to the eyes until you just mentioned it. For the Gemma bit, it was a transparency running at 5-10% speed synced to the real time clip on a frame where he's just about to launch forward, and on that same frame I cut off the slow semi-transparent version. I remember a lot of the ideas I had for these visual effects were very difficult to make in Premiere. I didn't know that I was supposed to be using After Effects for some of this stuff. :) Thanks to the trip down memory lane, I found a few more old videos if you'd like to check them out. This is a very nice remaster!! I never saw the original but from what I can see it was a thing of beauty back in 2001, I myself didn't see an amv till 2005. Actually, I too had re-edited/re-mastered the video that got me into editing as well but I lost the file when my old account got taken down. Anyways, glad you're showing the classics some love and that guitar solo at 4:13 was awesome ;)

Первый раз увидел сначала данный клип(в далеком году эдак 2003) Просто был поражен!!! Тогда не было даже интернета и соотвественно не мог найти что за аниме. Годы прошли и я вспомнил про данный клип. Как же я его искал когда не названия аниме ни названия трека не знал. Но упорство победило! ) и вот тольког гдето в 2010 году посмотрел сам мульт. Это шедевр как клип так и сам мульт!!!

Yep, my childhood was awsum. I did not even know that AMVs were a thing until 2007 but it is mindblowing that this was made in 2001. I liked how you implemented all the villains in the film into the AMV despite it following the movie. This AMV really reminded me of the spectacular beast it is. It could've been a TV series but I'm pretty sure the production values would've lowered, and this film came out during a time when anime was halfway close to being mainstream in America so all the more power. I really do miss this form of animation and character design in anime, everything's too generic and assembly line now. Anyhoo, amazing AMV!

This looks really good. I been wanting to get into some older animes like Afro Samurai and Evangelion. I'll add Ninja Scroll to the list to. The Samurai dude at the beginning (I presume he's the main character?) is very handsome and looks badass. Great song too. I prefer the original by Iron Maiden but overall this video is awesome

Thank you. Not to toot my own horn, but the color correction I did for this video was a painstaking process. Whoever they hired to do cleanup for the Ninja Scroll bluray did a terrible job. I had to adjust the color and brightness manually to get it to look its best for each scene.

I think I found 2 mistakes, at 2:49 he should run closer to the screen when Dani sings "closer" and the next scene should be in slow mo so the 2 attacks Jubei makes at 2:50 are synced with the drums. But this aside, a great remaster indeed!

There are no mistakes in editing my friend, only creative choices. I didn't like how that was synced in the original (since he had to slow it down and I thought It looked awkward, especially since the song is going full speed at that point and he'd already slowed down the previous scene), so I kept his two sword swipes and the pan upwards on the main tempo / beat of the guitars. Doing clever little syncs is fun, but the overall flow of the video takes precedence. It was one of a handful of changes I made, intentionally so. I appreciate your eye for detail though. ;-)

Did you notice in the scene that followed that one, Mujuro's attacks on Jubei are perfectly timed to the drumbeat and guitar riffs? In the original, they were slowed down and it didn't look as smooth. When it comes to covers / remasters people only ever point out the changes they don't like. :-P
