What I like the most about "Mai-HiME" is the fact that Mai Tokiha is absurdly OP without being boring. I mean come on, she can obliterate the surrounding in an instant. Like Nao said: "Aren't you all a little bit too careless? Her Child is a monster that can even go to space! What will you do if this girl starts fighting seriously?!" And yet we don't get tired of Mai. She's not boring. Because all that absurd power comes from a simple fact that she just feels a lot more pain than anybody else - and yet she endures it. The pain doesn't break her. She keeps going forward. And she manages to summon her Child even after her most precious person is killed. She's the only HiME in the show who figured out how to do that.
