Probably because of tiredness or lack of sleep, especially our D.O. is an actor. That's a big factor and has a huge effect on singing. I like how this reaction video honestly says what he hears and observes. He pinpointed where Kyungsoo got good points and what are off pitches.. And the way he said he needs to check the whole video before jumping into conclusion about those pitches is so professional.. For me a singer doesnt need to sing high pitches to be concluded as best vocals.. it is how you make people listen to you because of your voice and the music you produce.. that what's make Kyungsoo .. he may not be perfect vocalist but there is something in him that you cant stop listening when you hear him sing.. in kpop, because of the intense dance moves, lipsync is quite common even on award shows, a lot of groups wouldn't dare to perform live knowing they won't be able to sing because they can't catch their breath after dancing so hard. so the pitchy ones are because they are performing live, not lipsyncing. after hard intense dance you can't expect someone to hit a high note perfectly. even though it wasn't perfect but to be brave enough to perform live in the first place already shows how talented they are, and that fact alone is one reason why junior kpop groups look up to EXO. compare those to the ones where kyungsoo is standing still, even with the ones where he is sitting? damnn those vocals, one of best in the industry.

To be honest, there was a time when D.O. was a bit pitchy - it was the Elyxion period (aka when he was bald). I'm saying this as a D.O. stan. For example, he was pitchy on the DVD version of For Life but not on the famous fancam version (they were recorded on different days). He was also pitchy in the special Universe performance where they were wearing white and on a few lives during the same months (including the one in this video,a dn the Nature Republic fan festival where he wore the same clothes iirc). I know for a fact that he was very busy filming Swing Kids (a movie) while doing the concerts, the awards performances, and the year-end music festivals during this period (November to December 2017). My take on this is it was a tiring time for him and he's human, sometimes his pitch isn't perfect and sometimes his voice even cracks. :)

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Kyungsoo's unique voice gives each song a unique charm. I'm ready to listen to his voice as much as I want.! Even when Kyungsoo just speaks, he wants to listen and listen to endlessly, such a pleasant voice.

I hope you can do Kyuhyun from Super Junior. He isn't as famous as the EXO trio (he's like my fave balladeer haha but I know popularity has a lot to do with other factors of appeal and maybe he doesn't have as much as that in his looks or something), but he's quite known for his voice. I mean, he won 5 or 6 times on King of Masked Singer dressed and masked as a Genie, so you can tell the audience really loves his voice and he was able to make people cry while looking at the Genie mask haha. A bit of a shame that sometimes you can have amazing skills required for your job but because of some popularity factors you aren't as well known as others. Hope you give him a try.

Thank you for reacting to EXO, I hope you choose videos well as there are a lot of good recommendations in the comment section but somehow you end up with videos that are not great? (Prerecorded performance or weird compilations) EXO has 3 main vocals each has their own style. And they are ONE OF THE BESTS VOCALS IN KPOP as ranked by experts in the kpop industry (its amazing they are in 1 group) Technique wise DO isn’t the best but has a very different style and does RNB style and runs effortlessly. Chen - has wider range and pitch and more stable technique Baekhyun - has thicker voice, hits high notes too - Checkout - IMMORTAL SONGS - REALLY DIDNT KNOW by chen and baekhyun they did it when they were rookies Also everyone in EXO can sing Lead vocals - SUHO could easily pass as main vocal as well at this point (check out self portrait or made in you live session)

There are three main vocalists, D.O. has the rnb voice, Baekhyun has the very emotional voice (the cry sound is my kind of trademark for him), while Chen has a very big range and a lot of power (if you watch him live his voice kind of rides above the music and the fan screams without trying). Interesting that they included the radio acousitc live when they were rookies haha. I mean I love those clips but some are adorable for D.O.'s shyness when he makes mistakes, they're not his best. Also interesting (though off point haha) is that your nostrils' flare when you flip to falsetto.
