He already HAD his own style LONG before he did Queen music. Check out his Christian rock band, "downhere," which he fronted for many years, and which won a LOT of awards. He also has some of his own music out, which you can get on his website (among other places).

I literally just came back home from seeing Marc in Georgia, and it was honestly incredible. I cannot recommend seeing him and his band live enough. Also, if you haven't seen it, you should do a reaction to his cover of "I will always love you". I feel like he's the only guy to actually do that song justice.

Hey thanks for reviewing Marc! I saw that you noticed Marc having a different tone than the original recording in the beginning and popping up during the song. I think his voice was a bit strained this performance since he had to do a few of these Australian radio and news interviews around that time. All this to say he can definitely do even better.

In that performance, it sounds like the vocal channel is EQ'd toward bright. It really doesn't sound like any other recording I've heard him do. I notice how much it accentuates the breathy at the beginning, too.

Why are you bringing Adam into this? Well, as long as you did, I’ll say that Marc will never have the vocal ability and skill that Adam has. Adam brought his own incredible voice to Queen without ever trying to imitate or mimic Freddie.

Martel's range is 5 semitones vaster than Lambert's and, believe it, Marc uses his to a tee: Adam never climbs higher than E5, Marc sings up to Bb5 live. Martel has a MUCH better intonation. Adam is flat half the time and his intervals are dire. Marc has a very versatile apparatus and can sing a variety of styles very convincingly whereas Adam simply can't, all he ever does is queer pop. Marc harmonizes like a pro, live, unrehearsed. Adam can't harmonize. In short, go feed your cat, Carol!

It's not fair to say Marc brought Céline Dion to tears. She was already crying from previous singers. The program was a series of singers and songs which she says have had major impact on her life. Some of those meant a lot to her or to her and her late husband, so she was already very emotional before Marc took the stage. She is a big Queen fan, and even sings "The Show Must Go On" in her concerts (hence the "Show Must Go On" line at the end of "Somebody to Love," when he did it with her musicians and background singers). Don't look at the tears. They were already there. Look at her being a total fangirl for Marc Martel. He was on the show because she said his "Mercurotti" video deeply moved her, but I believe this was the first time she had heard him sing any other Queen song.
