I was going to say the same thing. I'm sure Adam is a very good singing coach but don't look at Kodi and "see if Kodi can learn to sing like this then you can to". Because that is just not true. I don't get the argument here. He's got perfect pitch and audiographic memory. He's one of the people I'd expect to be able to sing. Since music seems to be his special interest I would assume it's like with me and my special interest (animal behaviour) then singing and playing calms him down, centers him. He'd have every reason on the world to practice this as much as possible. To hold him up as "anyone can sing" is really weird. He's incredible because he isn't "anyone" but special.

Can you maybe react to his quarterfinal performance? He sang a Simon and Garfunkel song and it was beyond amazing. I mean it was truly something special. I know most people don't know a lot about Kodi but he actually can listen to a song and can pretty much perform it spot on. He's extremely smart and intelligent when it comes to music. And if you watch the quarterfinal watch and pay attention to what the crowd does.

What you said about the change in his speaking voice to singing - having trouble getting words out then singing beautifully- struck me. I have an uncle with a very significant stutter. He has a lot of trouble getting even short responses out. But when he sings, it all flows easily and without stutters. At my wedding, instead of making a toast, he sang a funny/sweet little song. ❤️

It is obvious that you have a prodigious knowledge of singing. But, from what I have heard, Kodi's talent didn't come from singing coaching, but mostly from an innate genius, like many of the masters. It was just more focused, since he had so few other options of expression in his life. Another thing, there has never been a totally perfect singing presentation. Knowledgeable people like you can always find some elements of the performance to criticize. What matters to me as a musical ignoramus is: Does the performance honestly represent the message of the song and does it move my heart. I have to say that this performance moved me like few that I have ever heard in my seventy plus years of life. Like Angelica Hale, I have admired every song that they have sung that I have heard. Some people surmount scales and technical issues and become singing phenoniums. Kodi is one of them.
