The business didn't go out of business. Amway is still fully operational. However the "Amway ClearTrak" is not under the Amway name. You can buy a new "ClearTrak" from cleartrak.com It is now called the Workhorse Cyclonic. But the same machine. :)

I don’t know about that but the best bagless multi functional machine has been made since the 1930s and has had better efficiency than any dry only system. But to each their own.

Found mine on the way to get my brother for easter dinner . Run perfect soundly amazing for a vac made from 91 ! Just needed belt and the filter cleaned since the cyclone rubber wore out , they still sell them!

Nice video. I bought a NOS one last year. It's a decent cleaner. Comparable to a Fantom Fury in performance. Not quite as effective as a Fantom Thunder.

I’m assuming the dual cyclonic system was licensed from dyson ?

jakub b The mode before this was the Amway CMS 1000, short story is Dyson wanted into the American market. Sought after an existing brand to help them. Called up Amway. Amway acted all interested said leave the documents etc and we will get back to you. Amway later said they were not interested. But Amway made their own body which is far superior to any Dyson body. (I have a ClearTrak and it is 30 years old. Holding up well.) BUT Amway took off the shroud of the dual cyclonic and put everything into production with the CMS 1000. Back to Dyson, so Dyson called up Sears and showed them prototypes etc to get into American market. Sears said “Well Amway is already doing this!” So the lawsuits came flying in and Amway lost. Had to caught up some major cash. Guessing when they made this until 2002 they were paying a royalty or something to using the technology. Still a damn good machine. I have put it up against some well known brands, expensive and cheap. I have been quite amazed at what is pulls up after the fact. Been a good machine for my grandparents and now myself for 30 years. Used 1-2 times a week for carpets, furniture, and dusting.

@@krantz55 you can still get parts for them too! I’ve got my CMS 2000 and it’s been in the family 30 years. I’ll never replace it with anything as even top end vacuums can’t hold a candle to the CMS.

@@JoshSmith-ek5gk Yep, my grandparents ClearTrak was falling apart besides the motor, so I “refurbished” it. I took the ClearTrak out to a family members who recently acquired a cabin property. Old old carpet from the 70’s in there. Used a modern machine to vacuum and then used a carpet cleaner. I still pulled 2 bins full easily. Later another family member came who was there before. Asked if I washed the rug. It was so soft now! Said nope, just this 30 year old vacuum pulling up DECADES of dirt. Very impressed.

@@krantz55 yep! I vacuumed my sisters house yesterday and filled it up several times and the carpet looked clean. It was old dirt deep down in the carpet. She was shocked and grossed out by the amount.

I never owned a clear track it seems like a bagless vacuum cleaner that is a empty out cleaning machine which all dirt might go back onto the carpet over again.

Thats a bad design flaw to take the dirt cup off and leave the cyclone attached. Very unsanitary

Bagless vacuums are inherently unsanitary, you almost always have to come in contact with the dirt at some point.
