That really was great, I giggled through the entire thing. The notion that the doc is REALLY trying to keep his cool as Reason is not listening and just venting...as someone who is a job coach, I do run into students who do not listen well at all-and I've had moments where I've had to remember to not get mad, because I don't want to make the person upset....it was also great to see you actually 'on the job' as a psychologist.... :)

I feel the EXACT same way about the comics that Katie Cook and Andy Price make, I'm just going to say without apology that I HATE THEIR COMICS! Well, as I was saying, at first, I was excited as everybody else in the fandom when I heard that IDW was going to publish Friendship is Magic comics, this was an absolute dream come true to me. When The Return of Queen Chrysalis came out, at first, I loved it, I thought it was a fun, well told, and adventurous comic that stayed true to the show. I loved Nightmare Rarity even more and was glad to see that other creative teams could work on the comics. But then, after a while, The Big Macintosh storyarc came out... I wasn't impressed, then after that I reread the Rarity Micro, it felt like just another "Rarity is stressed and miserable" story, so I wasn't too fond of it. After that realization, I decided to reread The Return of Queen Chrysalis, I came to the realization that... it sucked. In fact, if it were an actual episode, I would consider it the worst two-parter of the show. But then, Neigh Anything came out... dear fucking God... that... atrocity. To this day I shudder at the mere mention of those comics, and it made Cook the worst writer on anything that ever came out of Friendship is Magic in my opinion, so yeah, I ended up hating every comic they ever made. Except for the Equestria Girls Annual.

LOL This was great!! I particularly loved the restraint Dr. wolf showed while putting up with all the stuff from Voice of Reason, and how VoR DIDN'T pick up on it or seem restrained at all. Showing these two extremes try to work through things turned out to be a great recipe for comedy. And the doll! Also one of my favorite parts.

The animation style reminds of of Rainbow Dash Presents, and that's always a good thing. For the record while I personally like Friendship is Witchcraft more than the Mentally Advanced Series I have to admit the latter is far better at parodying the show and is a better show overall. FiW is kind of my guilty pleasure I guess.

Friendship is Witchcraft is alright, but I wouldn't call it hysterical. The only time I got a few giggles out of it was in Seed No Evil when they parodied Snowdrop despite some people finding that mean spirited.

Seed No Evil was a big step up from the rest of their recent material. I agree on Lunar Slander being absolute shit. Foaly Matripony was decent in the humor department, and quite good otherwise, Cherry Bomb was bad. Snowblind was fantastic. This being said, Mentally Advanced>FiW.

You know, something I've not actually said but probably bears mentioning: while I don't harbor any ill will toward FiW, I never actively liked it at any time. When I decided to watch it all the ones up to the One Bad Apple / Snowdrop parody had been released, so I went ahead and watched all of them (I always give shows the benefit of the doubt when first getting into them). They never once made me laugh and I can't recall even cracking a smile at the jokes. I agree with Voice of Reason in that most of the jokes just drag on for too long. I don't feel that the songs themselves stood out much on their own, but there have been some great remixes like the Russian Gypsy Jazz of Pinkie's Brew and the Full Orchestral cover of Gypsy Bard.

If you see enough Sherclop stuff, you realize how they are actually just trolls, and that's not a bad thing. I think part of the comedy comes from intentionally putting in as many bad jokes as possible. Comedy is defying your expectations in new and interesting ways, and the series does just that. Just look at Griffin's channel, or the Kimi Sparkle videos. All in all, I think every joke is carefully calculated, and they know exactly what they are doing. It kind of forms an interesting balance with the Mentally Advanced series, in that they both have somewhat advanced humor, which manifests itself in different ways (MAS being interjecting reality into the situations and seeing what happens, FiW interjecting absurdity into the situations and seeing what happens). Basically, FiW relies on ironic humor, and purposefully getting a rise out of you, making a weird sort of troll-humor that only makes sense on a somewhat meta level. Regardless, it's not for everyone, and to each their own.

I think Dr. Wolf should be able to hold his own against whatever eccentric folks he talks to, and doesn't have a (in my opinion) very entertaining personality, or enough energy as a force to drive laughs. Of course, you have a very solid foundation, and if you think it's the right direction you could correct those issues somewhere down the line. Keep on!
