AMX 13 75 Review, Guide to 3 Marks of Excellence

I review the AMX 13 75, a tier 7 French light tank in World of Tanks (WoT), with replays of tier 9 Fisherman's Bay and Glacier battles.
The AMX 13 75 is often compared unfavorably to the T71 DA, but I found the AMX 13 75 to be a highly effective tank. The driver needs to carefully manage the limited gun depression, gun elevation, and ammo capacity.

Platooned a ton of games with you at t7 and it was always fun when you played this tank. I want people to know that this is by far 1 of the best tanks you play and its fun playing with and watching you play it. This tank seems to give a ton of players a hard time when they play it but there is something about it that you like and know how to play with. Just to let people know how much you actually play this tank, when I platoon with Taugrim, unless we were hard grinding a tank that was fun like the T20, Taugrim nearly always picked t7s and played the AMX 13 75 and it was pretty much every game we win even with crap MM and getting t9 tanks. Enjoyed the replay and glad people voted for it.

Maybe the AMX 13 75 is fun because it looks cool, but most importantly: it has a 4 round autoloader with a quick reload and cycling Shell. At least for me. Also, the ammo is cheap at 76 credits.

However, the oficial WOT wiki says that the T71 DA is better than the AMX 13 75 in every way (except camouflage).

BC 12T has its turret in the middle and plays differently what you can do is just yolorush players and auto-aim 4 shots in their side or rear and run away

I always felt stuck with LT's too, on Asian server, if I was playing like that I would have been team shot by our arty demanding that I go down the one line on fisherman's bay in a suiscout rush. I try so hard to play smart and be patient, to survive later into battle, when LT's are valuable, but end up TK'd often if I don't do the expected rush and die tactic, really annoying. Also turned off team chat now, feels much better.

Nice play on fisherman’s bay. In Na The heavies have smartened up for most part and go wide city. Seems that I am seeing a tremendous amount of tanks going mid in the beginning causing over crowding and leaving the heavy flank open while the the ditch is just a camping dead zone with no real way to get spots on the tds in the corners. Without getting pinned behind the structure. The second position you took isn’t bad but getting cross shots Anywhere is hard also. This map is all about who pushes up and gets shot up anymore. :( Nice videos man!

I'm predominantly a console player...that said, recently found myself driving this around and both the 13 75 and the 12t have been a lot of fun for me...but, I grew into them...really didn't enjoy either initially. My WR with the 12t is sub-50% and the scar tissue from not being able to influence and carry the way you need to sometimes is real. I enjoy the videos and watch for the terrain analysis as much as anything else - my biggest hurdle to competence, other than lack of patience degrading decision making, is lack of map knowledge. One question - crew skills?

The T71 DA is easier to play: more gun depression/elevation, larger clip size and damage potential, better alpha. The things the 13 75 has over it are camo and IIRC smaller size.

Heavies are my most-played class, but I enjoy lights and mediums more. The 50B is underpowered in the current meta. It's huge and has no turret armor. The Kranvagn is a better 50B.

Awesome tank, enjoyable to anyone who had some experience with light tanks. One word of advice, when peeking around the corner, do it in reverse. Why? Cuz you expose less of your tank to shoot and also when you try to hide, you do it faster driving forwards

You are right, that is the best approach. Sometimes I get my forward/backwards reversed mentally when I do that, so when I mean to actually pull back into hard cover, I actually expose my tank more >

I have about 1800 WN8 on this tank, yet my wr in it is 41% (I am not a great player). I am not focusing on farming damage or anything, just feel like I am constantly matched with teams that do not want to help win the games. Hats off for the LT players out there. Don't know how you guys do it.

How many battles have you played? Your WR may be due to a small sample size.

Typically when a WR is low but WN8 is relatively higher, the issue is that a player is not contributing enough early. Can you post your DPG, KPG, SPG, assisted DPG, and survival %? The SPG (spots per game) and assisted DPG will tell a lot IMO. I will give me an idea of what you might be doing.

DPG: 759, KPG: 0.90, SPG: 2.11, assis. DPG: 540, Surv.: 29.52% Never bothered to check these, it's interesting. My T20 has 175 games played with 1630 WN8 and 52.57% WR DPG: 1018, KPG: 1.01, SPG: 1.51, assis. DPS: 557, Surv. 34.29% I know it's a medium, but it's my most played tier 7 that isn't a heavy tank.

Hmmm, my guess is that you aren't contributing enough early, and that too much of your damage is probably coming mid-to-late game, when the outcome is already decided (i.e. a loss). Your SPG, and to a lesser extent assisted damage, is on the low side. My guess is that you are not spotting sufficiently during the early-to-mid game, or maybe over-emphasizing firing your gun early as opposed to enabling your team's guns to fire. You should try work you gun in selectively early-to-mid game, but don't overdo it to the point of eating early damage or cutting off your spotting because you have to run away and hide.

Basically I don't use food on any tank, unless I need it on a light or medium to get to 445m of view range and I can't get there without it, either because my crews aren't sufficiently skilled or the base view range of the tank is too low. So I either do: 1. Large first aid kit, small repair kit, auto fire extinguisher 2. Large first aid kit, small repair kit, food

Taugrim I don't remember watching any videos on how players should play a brand new tank when they do not have 6 sense. I would bet that could help a hell of a lot of people that are new or need tips on playing a tank with a new crew. I don't know if you use free xp to train 6 sense or do you start from scratch? But I see you pay attention to your channel. I don't recall seeing a video about that but I prolly am wrong.

I haven't made a video about playing without Sixth Sense. Basically, you have to be ridiculously careful in lights, mediums, and TDs. I don't find that enjoyable, especially in lights and mediums. TDs you can get away with because they're either brawlers that play like heavies in terms of engagement (getting up close) or they're camo snipers. People often say "just play like you're always spotted" but I personally find that advice hollow and useless, as if you really did that you can't do much of anything.

As much as I enjoy the T71 DA, I'll always enjoy this more. The flexibility of the clip reload with cheap, effective APCR rounds (fuck the HEAT rounds on the DA) and superb camo makes this adept at dealing damage as well as scouting for it.

That lane going up to the frozen carrier on arctic is a super powerful position for a light tank. It's straight up op when you have one with 9-10 degrees of gun depression completely owning the lights or meds trying to play from other center map areas. I wish it didn't exist to be honest. ps. I have a question with the spotting mechanics. On province in my amx 12t i was getting spotted through the bushes when i was sitting at the J9 hill. The only tanks i could see were heavies sitting at G8. was i getting proxy spotted or is this bush not solid enough and i was getting seen rolling up?

Anything within 50m will proxy spot you. But tanks only 1 square away, even if more than 50m in distance, will likely spot you. They're too close.

I haven't played much lately and I have very little experience with this map, but I was once surprised that bushes don't give you 100% camo. But if camo of light tank is something like 35% and you add camo of the bush which is 50% it reduces view range of enemy tank trying to spot you to 15% - which means that tank with 470m view range can spot you at 70m. Problem is that camo factor added by bushes is somewhat random and according to wiki it can be up to 64%. When playing bigger medium tanks, I usually assume that i'm visible somewhere between 150 and 170m and for light tank without camo net it's 80m. But do your research, I became weekend warrior and my knowledge of game mechanics is getting worse.

The STB-1 was my first tier 10. I used the on-track to grind from stock tier 5 to tier 10 in just under 3 weeks (premium time, ontrack bonus, and chugging reserves). All tiers 5-9 I kept a >54% WR and then found the STB-1 to be just utterly incompetent. It's no longer the highest DPM tier 10 medium, it's armor is just bad especially with the patton getting buffed, and yet its accuracy is still in the gutter. It really got powercreeped.

I love this tank! But I am not sure about his equipment. I am using Binocular, Vent and Vstab. But vbaddict says I should use Optics, Vent and GLD. I think I should passive scout so I use Binoular

So I always list the recommended equipment in the description of the video, and you can see my equipment choices in the first 10 seconds of the video. You should not use Binocs on any light tank from tier 6-10. You want have vision when you are moving so Optics are a must.

This is problem with all the youtubers, but it's unlikely to have good game if you are bottom tier and one team is better. Easiest games are when both teams consist of clueless campers and games are long. If both teams are good there's usually no easy damage to farm and once one team gets weaker, game usually ends very fast. What I do not understand about superunicums is, that they can farm nearly twice more damage than average players while keeping way better kills/death ratio. Sometimes they can even achieve 5000dmg in five minutes long game with one minute to meet the first enemy tank.

pavelp80 u can check his Pershing replays sometime before those 2 are really nice game compare to these games. Consider superunicorns dmg farming I can only say that they know the game really well and can prodict what gonna happen or where will be the most dmg or which tank/flank I can win without no problem. All in all they are better in mind guessing than avg players
