Such a shame Turner didn't document his tricks and techniques. Considering the materials and tools available at that time he was an absolute master of what was available.

Thank you so much for this. Mr. Turner is one of my heroes. Great influence on my paining. Subtitles would help me hear your talk. I know it would add greatly to the cost of production. Much enjoyed what I did hear.

Interesting information about the technique of watercolour painting. Perhaps he used chrome yellow and was told that this pigment was not so durable by Windsor and Newton.

If the new pigments were more expensive he wouldn't of wanted to know, Turner was a notorious penny pincher.

why is it cut off at the end?

I asked my colleague who edited the film - they replied: "I think it did end there, the speaker kind of drifted off and said something along the lines of ‘that’s all I wanted to say’ or something." So i think we published just what was on the original film. Sorry that it sounds strange.

Hi Amy. Sadly I believe your physiological assessments of Turner is in many ways absolutely incorrect. Compulsive and obsessive in character he was not - Passionate yes - Intense of course - Wise without doubt - Compassionate unquestionably - And in time - place and space the greatest painter of aesthetic cognitive stimulus Britain has ever had !
