I was just a kid but he had these nice big leather bound books from the "Wild, Wild West." The outlaws and whatnot. I remember they featured pictures of the outlaws deceased once they were captured. They weren't bloody and gruesome. Just pictured the dead outlaw in their casket. Then it said what they did, etc. I just remember going through and looking at the pictures all the time. I was a strange kid. Lol 😆

I remember this circus like it was yesterday! I was in high school and I know for a fact I watched the Lifetime movie version with Alyssa Milano of this story! Joey is trash and I remember feeling bad for Mary Jo, even though I knew she was an adult and could leave....ugh glad she finally got away from him. Hopefully she has a peaceful rest of her life.

Amy Fisher will always be one of my favorite (??) crue trime stories. I DEVOURED every single book about this when the story was breaking, (I still have Long Island Lolita somewhere), read her autobiography, and watched every movie. (The Alyssa Milano version was my fave.) Mind you, I was ELEVEN when all of this happened, so I shouldn't have been so invested in this story BUT I WAS.

This is one of the things that is so hard about juvenile/adult court lines. How do you charge someone as an adult when you are saying they can't consent to sex? I'm NOT saying that she could consent or that he should have slept with her; it's the adult court part that's more of a hurdle. Amy not being able to get a job afterwards is part of what I mean about this. She should have been in a juvenile program that focused on releasing her with skills that helped her to get a job that wasn't adult entertainment. There is NOTHING WRONG with consenting adults doing sex work or her getting into cam work now but the fact that she was doing sex work as a teen, went to prison as a teen, and came out to only be able to do the legal versions is a representation of how gross our legal system is.
