How the the hell can Porter sit there and try to discredit McCain by claiming that he "doubts he read the report," when he just admitted to not reading the report himself?!

A proper study doesn't have "sides." It is conducted in such a way as to eliminate bias as much as possible.

saying that the report is highly flawed since not all the prominent actors were questioned is reasonable, saying the report is bad if he hasn't read it, is not . Some people know that torture has many flaws one being that the information isn't reliable, not interviewing those who organized the torture wont change that.. It would be naive to think any major power doesn't intentionally harm some of those it considers it enemy, ie tortore will always happen in some form.. but to openly make torture part of government policy, changes the game.. The government may not have broken any laws, but that doesnt make the organizers of the torture innocent

im sympathetic to peter goss but it would be nice if he gave some examples. the one good point he makes is that the senate report never asked the CIA agents why the program came about
