This song has been stuck in my head since elementary, which is the last time I heard it. I’ve been singing it randomly throughout my life. Didn’t know all the words to the hook. Today, I told my wife about the music teacher that would have us singing this song in school. She was pleasantly surprised, shocked actually. Then she suggested I look it up. Why I never thought to do that, IDK. I looked it up and my search led me here. When Amy started singing, my eyes immediately filled with tears. I haven’t heard this song in 37 years and as a child I had no clue what it meant. As an adult, I’m overjoyed at the magnificence of God’s power and love. And just as the song says, He’s the same God today as He was back then when this song first escaped my lips. Hallelujah.
