I agree with you Angela Perrone. I am a 53 yr old male drummer. I see so many young female drummers these days showing off their body parts more than their skill. It's great to hear and see this woman's voice base solely on her ability to sing and perform. A true artist. She does not slur her words or change pronunciation of the lyrics the way so many female vocalists do today. PURE TALENT

Shes ruined a classic...
@ladybat13124 жыл бұрын
@@darrentaylor1414 She MADE HER OWN VERSION of a classic, a very beautiful & Ev Origin album esque (their best album imo, along with Open Door) sort of darkwave version. I LOVE THE ORIGINAL CLASSIC SONG just like you, and I also LOVE THIS ONE. Both are great in entirely different ways, what did you want her to do, copypaste the original?? NOONE could make it as good as the original IN THE SAME WAY. Done with new style like this, she's not even trying but making a version AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL but in different way. Had she done it in same way it would've been lame (even when it's Amy), I really like her making her own version instead. So no, to me SHE DIDN*T RUIN the original at all, as this is like an interily different song now. And I never understand that mindset "ruiend the original" when people do covers, even the lamest covers DON*T RUIN AN ORIGNAL, you can just iGNORE the covers you don't like. 10/10 points U2's original, 10/10 points also for this imo.
@darrentaylor14144 жыл бұрын
@@ladybat1312 all that what you said, is all in your opinion... my opinion is different. In my opinion, she ruined it, it's the exact same song, same lyrics, same chords, same chord progression, same beat, same set up, so it is a copy of the original song, hard to grasp, I know... The original is normally always better than the remixed version, the exception, for me, is Jimi Hendrix' version of all along the watch tower. The thing with ruining the original, whenever you hear the original, you always remember, either during or after the song, the bad version of it, and it ruins the moment, for me anyway. This version does that to me. If you cover a song, as she has, give it the justice it deserves, not ruin it for the sake of 'doing things your own way/you're own version'. Again, just my opinion.

THIS IS AMY LEE. She loves to be weird, she loves synths, she loves darkness. Her voice is amazing! This cover is really a part of the sound of her soul.
@xPaLmaaHx4 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: It kinda really IS the sound of her soul... because she was having a weird dream where she was signing/hearing this cover in this style, she said "is one of those moments where you kinda know you're sleeping but you don't want the dream to end" So she was kinda waking up yet trying to be in that dream more, bc she loved how she was singing/hearing it in within her dream., as soon as she finally woke up in the middle of the night, she proceed to go upstairs to her home studio and started recording with her synth pedals (the ones you see in this video) bc she didn't wanted to forget what she heard in her sleep...and with her phone she first recorded the synth sounds and some backing vocals with the chorus sanged in this style. She said that she stood there doing/recording it fully very early in the morning till the evening, perfecting her version of this song that she dreamt about. So literally we are listening Amy's dream version of U2's With or Without You. Isn't that SO FUCKING COOL?!!

It is beautifully haunting, beautifully sung, and like almost all of her songs, it has so much soul. There are some great singers but THEN once in a life time someone comes along and takes it to an entire different level Amy just took it 2 steps above that level. I can safely say, in my book, this is the best female voice this old guy has ever heard. If you disagree please post who is better or as good I may have not heard them sing. And if they sing anything like her I want to hear them. But as of now this will always be to me what an angel sings like.

+gloomyharlow Back when she had more control. I thought the same thing. The vocal layers remind me of Origin and earlier.
