When she passed I hadn't heard anything besides rehab... In the time since, she has influenced me beyond measure... She's my go-to, my favorite, my blue days and my joy, my revelrie and my reverie... I don't miss many things (I'm broken like that), but it makes me very sad that there's no more skin in the game and I miss her breath. Can I just say... 'Love you girl, miss you, so much'.

Same. I was in middle school when she passed and only heard rehab. It's my last favorite song of hers now. I honestly get so sad and angry hearing that song. The media was horrible to her for her addictions and they overplayed that song so I saw her as a no good addict and horrible person. My little sister started showing me her music a few years ago and now she is one of my favorite artists--and people. I wish she had a chance to get better, whonknows what kind of beautiful music shed have still been making 😞

It really says a lot about us as a nation when we see a legendary artist like this going through hard times and feel the need to abuse her,rather than support her. Her talent is undeniable and shines through every record i have ever heard her perform. Phrases like 'her face is rotting off' are pathetic. Are we no better than the media who built her up to knock her down?

+OlymPigs2010 Amy was good, great even; but the "Empress of Jazz" ....sorry but that title was taken a long time ago. I loved Amy and her music too but lets be honest...does her stature within the Jazz genre measure up to a Billie, Sarah or Ella...I don't think so.
@OlymPigs20109 жыл бұрын
...None of those vocalists wrote their own great,amazing songs like Amy did...and Billie Holiday Sucked...well...that's what Amy "The Empress of Jazz" said!
@anthonytruitt34879 жыл бұрын
You're obviously not a Jazz aficionado or a true fan of this art form ...otherwise you wouldn't make such blanket uninformed statements...Amy herself, if she were still alive, wouldn't wear that moniker. Furthermore if it weren't for the true original jazz vocalists, who you apparently like to deride, there would be no Amy Winehouse. Lastly, Amy was to much of a multiple genre and Pop artist to be considered a Jazz Vocalist in the pure sense let alone an Empress of the genre. "Billie Holiday sucked" ....If Amy said that it was probably right after she shot up or snorted something...I don't think you'll find anyone of relevance in the Jazz world past or present who would agree with that statement...says a lot about you.
@OlymPigs20109 жыл бұрын
...oh so Ella and Sarah didn't do pop tunes did they....shows what you know! Like Tony Bennett said "Amy was better than any of them!" ...and that's why she's the...Empress of Jazz!
