I am 60 years old and I so relate to Amy winehouse. A reporter once said that without alcohol or drugs, Amy was like interviewing a rock. I get it. Born in the 60s and by the time the seventies rolled around, I was the life of the party, but of course I was stoned, drunk. I get it. I was social when I was tore the hell up. Sober, I was quiet as a church mouse and as insecure as you can get. As was Amy. And she had a much bigger audience than I did. Bless your heart I get it. May you rest in peace and I hope your personality shines now. Much love Grandma Gia in the Ozarks

I closed my eyes halfway through and imagined her in a big comfy chair beside a fire with a big oversized cardigan on, a blanket over her legs all curled up in the chair and a soothing warm drink in her hands as she bathes in cosy light from a lamp whilst just singing to herself with a smile on her face, enjoying her own voice alone while she heals. The heart saying Blake in her hair. Their relationship was one of those that was always going to end in each of them falling further down the hole. Too much toxic love, compounded by drug use, to the point where they felt it was them against the world. I don’t think she would have listened to anyone. Hearing her sing Rehab is horrific. You often hear the defiance, but also the regret in her voice. People singing along like it’s just a song, when it was her life. angel nava I agree. She might have at times had the help she needed. She made choices. At the same time she was sick/very addicted and these people should not have allowed this. She needed help then and there and they encouraged her to go on. She could not have fought this battle on her own. I am amazed at how many performances she had done in this state, in her condition, but she was money to them, so she didn't get the help and support she needed. It's so sad. We Love You Amy!

The ppl in the comments saying "how could those close to her have not stopped her?"...clearly you don't know a thing about addiction. You have to want to save yourself. It's the fight of a lifetime, it's not just a medical treatment. You have to want it in the deepest core of your being. Consistently. And then you have a chance. Those who love someone with addiction often say that one of the worst parts is watching them die slowly, right in front of you. And it being out of your control.

When I heard the song for the first time, i was surprised by the sentence 'and if my daddy thinks i'm fine'. How can a parent think you're fine? But later i heard the rumers about Amy's addiction and looks and behaviour, i realized that she didn't feel validated by her parents. Too often it's a reason for selfdestructive behaviour.
