i loved her in the "Frank" era. but i also admired that she was always changing thing up and trying new things musically. she was a true Original.

+FBJatNight yes, really! Her vocal range (I come from a family of musicians) is fucking incredible. Adele doesn't even compare.
@FBJatNight9 жыл бұрын
+Felicha Gomez if all it takes is range then Rachelle Ferrell has all these checks beat (I too come from a family of vocalist so I guess that qualifies me also). My problem with that whole "best" declaration is that it is subjective, there is no one BEST, just what you consider best which is aside from the reality of the situation. I like many vocalist, musicians and prefer certain ones but I don't go into the whole BEST thing. Like I said I like Amy but would not go so far as make a declaration discounting the likes of Ella, Lady Day, Dianne Reeves, Etta James, Cecile McLorin-Savant and a few more that I cannot think of at this time. "One Of The Best", ok, THE Best - BOOOO!

@@FBJatNight Well, that makes a heck of alot of sense to me! I'm expanding my Music likes, to classical now! It started out as Rock, Rock and Roll, Swing! Now, I cannot blieve what I'm hearing. It's amazing music! Then we can go back to Janis Joplin! Amy Whinehouse was the new Janis Joplin. Well, in my opinion, anyway.....

This concert is a fine example of Amy in her "earlier period", before the Beehive, the weight loss, personal problems, when she truly enjoyed performing. She was one of the best jazz sirens of her generation. I especially enjoy watching the various bands who accompanied her back then. They truly enjoyed playing on stage with Amy. Who wouldn't be into accompanying such a powerful force❤

Doesn't surprise me in the least. Oh Yeah,, first time I am seeing this on the Tube,,,great band as usual Amy ,,,you always attracted the best lads , like a moth to a candle,,,! You miss you Amy.

I like this one best of all the live stuff. The band is so good and she's nervous. A close up theater of 2,500 seats. This was just as she was first being yanked around. No guitar in hand, short skirt, vocalist only. Sexy girl singer selling tickets. It's a testament to her talent that she made it through these kinds of venues early on in her career. I'd have loved to have been at this concert. Live music doesn't get much better than this, because there aren't that many who can write, play and sing it like Amy could.

It takes more than two albums to be considered a legend. She is is definitely very good and borders on greatness. IF she can stay alive long enough to create a body of work so fans and critics alike can see her evolve into something even better then we're seeing now, then we can say she is legendary. If she just dies of young age through her reckless living then she'll just be remembered as a tragic loss.
