It’s rare that an acoustic cover of an old song is astronomically better than the original but here we are

I think this is a cover of the other version(68 version, I think) they recorded. Which, both she and Mark Ronson have named their favorite version of the song. I really wish they had released that version as the single instead.

Was watching this on a recent vacation with family, I had a few beers and started yelling that the idea Art can only be judged subjectively is worth going to war over. I want to be on the other side of a battlefield from people who think you can't say this is OBJECTIVELY BETTER than, say, DojaCat. And I want to water than battlefield with their blood (I'm kidding, KZbin, it's called hyperbole).

It is effort. The craft of artistry is not just given and left like a stain on the floor. The mind has to go through an immense crisis to reach a preponderance of equity. It is work. Do not be fooled by the fakery of gold-digging singers who merely have show some skin to get global "respect". They are not artists. Amy knew what it meant to create art. Now copy her.

She knew but like a real artist, never gave herself full credit. She never pushed anything out that was less than her standards and never forced her work. Her story is probably one of the saddest I've ever known. Her talent was stratospheric, yet it couldn't compensate for the love she so desperately craved. If you close your eyes you can hear how she makes love to the song. Amy was so damn relatable, plucking away at your heart strings. She may have been you in an early stage of your life. But you had the support you needed to climb out of that pit. She didn't; every single person around her was a complete parasite. You just wanted to snatch her away from her bad influences and terrible choices. Yet here we are, listening to a legend instead. Probably the most tragic "celebrity death" in a generation. Truly devastating.

I actually cried when I saw/heard this for the first time. She was sitting...a bit restless, flipped her hair, looked down at her nails for a sec....and that voice came out and it was f*cking EFFORTLESS. So nonchalant as if....doesn't everyone have this magical sound come out when they open their mouth? She is so missed. Addiction is a terrible thing that grabs ahold of some...if you're lucky it won't grab you. RIP Miss Winehouse. You are singing up there...we can still hear you.

Speaking of angels, there's a vocalist called Angelina Jordan. She's got a pure heart, like an angel. She performs barefoot in tribute to poor people who can't afford shoes. Coincidentally her name derives from angel and coincidentally her tone is similar to Amy's.

I hate these comments about “who’s still listening in 2020” dude music is timeless. You never stop listening to what you love or enjoy. A lot of people are still listening to things they’ve always enjoyed. People listen to music that’s 100 years old on the daily. Again, it’s timeless. Well still be listening in 2045
